The horses were incredibly relieved to see that Firekeeper was once again her normal self instead of a small child when she showed up for work. Incredibly relieved, and incredibly curious as to what she'd gotten up to last weekend. Eventually, though, they got the hint that she wasn't inclined to answer any of their questions and she and Blind Seer settled in to wait and see if anyone stopped by.

Tahiri, half drowsing on her hay bale, cracked one eye open and peered over. "What, no licking trees today?"

Francine made a face. "Eww. Though if it had been chocolate..."

"It probably would have been disappointing anyway?" Tahiri suggested. "Kind of bitter."

[thatsamilkshake]

"If it was a cocoa tree, yeah," Francine agreed. "But around here, who knows. It could've been made of raspberry truffles."

"Point," Tahiri conceded with a grin. "And then we'd probably have finished off the poor tree and been sick afterward."

Francine laughed. "I'm surprised we didn't all get sick anyway, with the amount of sugar we ate."

"And the lack of much actual decent food," Tahiri added.

"I... had some juice?" Francine offered. It was probably the only healthy food she'd had all weekend though.

"I had chips. And some really gross beef jerky." That she'd managed, somehow, to Force-coax out of the vending machine. "And a lot of soda. Does this kind of thing happen often?"

"Not while I've been here," Francine answered. "But I only got here last summer."

"Longer than I've been here," Tahiri said. "I was just thinking, if it's not a one-time thing maybe we should stock emergency kid-sized cabinets . . ."

"Ooh, good idea!" Francine said. "Though they might get raided by gremlins. They'd be sort of gremlin-sized too."

"Is that a bad thing?" Tahiri asked, then paused when a memory occurred to her, and turned slightly red. "Wait. No. Master Skywalker in sequins. Bad thing."

"....................."

"Just be glad you didn't see it," Tahiri told her.

"I am. Believe me, I am!"

Tahiri grinned sheepishly. "Sorry. I know it's scary even without picturing it."

"I am picturing it; that's the problem." Francine snickered. "I've seen Professor Skywalker, even if I haven't taken his class."

[weetuskenraider]

"I don't think I'll ever be able to unsee it," Tahiri said, unable to hold back a snicker of her own.

"I hope that never happens to me." Francine shuddered. "Getting bitten I mean. Not specifically sequins." She might have a wee bit of a beef with the local gremlin population right now.

"I'm kind of hoping to avoid that myself," Tahiri agreed. "I don't even want to know what those things would make me do."

[thatsamilkshake]

"I'm pretty sure mine would involve being naked," Francine sighed. "It usually does."

Tahiri just blinked. "Well. That's a . . . special skill."

[thatsamilkshake]

Francine made a face. "Can I trade it in for actually being able to play the clarinet? Or ballet. Ballet dancing would be nice." Which was a dream she gave up a loooooong time ago. At least three cup sizes.

"Sorry. I don't know anybody who makes deals like that," Tahiri said apologetically.
