Park, Thursday Morning

With graduation this weekend, the school expected most of the graduation guests to begin arriving today. So, to make sure they felt welcomed, the student council had set up a small gathering in the park where the guests could arrive, mingle and relax before heading off with their guests and friends.

There were finger foods on a long table and nametags on the table beside it. Chairs were set out for people to sit and talk if they so wanted.

It was time to get graduation weekend rolling!

[This is just a tiny mingling posts for all grad guests, alums, expats, students, teachers and townies to meet up and talk a little. There's going to be a garage sale later and we encourage you all to go to that as well!]

"Okay, so, which of the alumni am I allowed to hit on?" Lois asked. Why, yes, that was the only reason she was here.

"Anyone but my uncle Luke," Jaina told her immediately. "I think. Though if you find Dave Sheppard, he could probably use it."

"Oh, I'm sure John would be thrilled with me hitting on his family members," Lois said, smirking. "No Sheppards, no Jaina's relatives. That still leaves me with a lot. I'm two months away from eighteen, that's close enough to being legal, right? Right?"

"John might agree with me on the family members thing," Jaina told her. "And I certainly didn't just hear how old you actually are so I'm sure I'd completely assume you were legal."

"Excellent. I've got enough ID's that say I'm plenty legal," Lois said, chuckling.

"Planning on having fun this weekend, huh?" she assumed.

"Of course!" she said, grinning. "There are plenty of new people around. New people who are only around for the weekend and that I won't ever have to see again. Best case scenario."

"That's a way of looking at it. Maybe I should start." Not that she would. She had plenty of reasons not to, but still. Happy thought.

"I think maaaaaaybe John would have something to say about you hitting on the alumni," Lois guessed.

"Start thinking of the new people as people I don't have to see again," Jaina clarified. "I don't need to be hitting on people, especially now." Also, wow did she not need to. Like ever.

"Do I need to punch someone for you?" Lois asked. "Because I can, you know."

"No, if she needs to be punched, I'll gladly do it," Jaina told her. "John's got a possessive little wannabe homewrecker for a 'friend.'"

"Oh that's nice," Lois said, rolling her eyes. "Considering that you and John have been together forever, she doesn't have a leg to stand on with the whole possessive homewrecker thing."

"His family's likely taking him back this weekend," Jaina said, and no, she wasn't happy about this. "And guess where she's going to be. I don't really have a lot of experience in dating, but isn't it tacky to tell another girl her time's up?"

"She told you that?" Lois asked.

"Uh huh. High school's over and all," she nodded. "I hate her. Jedi aren't supposed to hate, but here I am."

Lois really did get a lot of Jaina's bitching, now that she thought about it.

"You should punch her," Lois decided. "I'll tell everyone she started it."

"I don't think it's out of the question. She apparently didn't get the memo that it's a bad idea to make me mad." What, with the scary threats and killing and all. "But I'm trying not to make things worse. Maybe on Sunday."

"You're a lot calmer than I would be," she said. "I would have knocked that bitch's block off the second she got all possessive with me."

"I trust John, so she's barely a threat. But she's an annoying one, and he's trying to stay longer, which probably wouldn't happen if she goes running to Dave saying John's mean girlfriend Jane knocked out her teeth."

Lois chuckled. "I guess that means I should be niceish to her too, huh? John needs to get a couple more gremlin bites before I'm ready to see him go."

"...Only if you really have to," Jaina said grudgingly. "I just want to hit her till she cries."

"It sounds like she deserves it," Lois said. "She was pretty stupid to show up here where people would gladly kick someone's ass for you and John."

By "people" Lois meant herself.

"Thanks, Lois," Jaina said with a little smile. "And I'm gonna speak for him too when I say we apreciate it. "
