Park, Thursday Morning

With graduation this weekend, the school expected most of the graduation guests to begin arriving today. So, to make sure they felt welcomed, the student council had set up a small gathering in the park where the guests could arrive, mingle and relax before heading off with their guests and friends.

There were finger foods on a long table and nametags on the table beside it. Chairs were set out for people to sit and talk if they so wanted.

It was time to get graduation weekend rolling!

[This is just a tiny mingling posts for all grad guests, alums, expats, students, teachers and townies to meet up and talk a little. There's going to be a garage sale later and we encourage you all to go to that as well!]

This didn't look so bad. The way Buffy described it, Giles would have expected demons and harpies and unicorns everywhere, all brandishing weapons.

Then he remembered that Sunnydale looked fairly normal too in the daytime, and mentally shut up, donning his nametag.

Commander Adama didn't care much for nametags so he stuck his on with some grumbling. He thought that wearing his uniform would have denoted who he was but, apparently, this school was still strange.

This wasn't an unfamiliar thing for Corran. He stuck his nametag on with minimal fuss and headed off to mingle.

Mike put on his nametag and kept his eyes open for his former students. He was in a suit today, as the Hawaiian shirts had been left behind in Hawaii.

Luke put on his nametag with a smile--it was nice to be back somewhere not everyone would know him--and went off to mingle.

Okay, she probably needed a name tag. She just wasn't going to wear one. It was easier to be antisocial if people didn't immediately call you by name anyway.

Adah promptly found her nametag, and was about to very firmly strike out the printed name and replace it with a more proper backwards one before the nub of her black marker paused thoughtfully, a last second reconsidering and a frown.

Reluctantly, she capped the marker, slipped it back into her pocket, and somehow, deftly, peeled the paper off the sticker part and plastered it onto her right side with just one hand. She figured she'd be found odd enough by the Eel's Father without having to go and throw backwards names into the whole thing.

Taylor, Taylor, Steve Tay--

Oh, there it is. Steve grabbed his name tag, put it on with a displeased expression, but thought to himself that at least that's one thing going okay with this whole trip. His nametag was right.

He wondered if he really ever expected Jeff's graduation from high school to go well. He had terrible dreams every so often about the grammar school one...

Chloe took her nametag, but didn't put it on. She was kind of curious about whether or not she could still pass as a student around people who didn't know any better.

Piper arrived, but she didn't think she needed the nametag since she'd been back here so many times. She figured she would just tell people her name if asked.

Benvolio still found that the island strained his sense of belief somewhat, but the respite from Verona was welcome nonetheless.

Amused by the notion of nametags, he found his and put it on.

Giles was checking the place out just as much as he was looking for Buffy, all while trying to look as casual as a Giles could look. It wasn't working so well.

As if Barney needed a name tag on this island. Sure, he snagged a few blanks for his pocket in case he decided to pretend he was someone's older brother in for a weekend of proud goodbyes before setting off for business in China.

Unless that was Biff's game. They'd have to talk.

Adama didn't actually know when Lee would make an appearance. Knowing him, at the very last second and for as short as time as he could. Adama wasn't going to go searching for him, though.

Well, when he said mingling, Corran meant he'd just take a seat and watch for people, watch for Gavin. It was a form of mingling.
