Caritas - Tuesday Evening [Open]

Marshall had called in work sick with "sand in the pants". Riggins didn't particularly need to know this highly disturbing fact but Tino was all too willing to share this information when he came in for a beer. Somehow this led to some chatting and Riggins eventually found himself behind the bar working in exchange for free beer all night.

He felt this was a pretty good deal considering he could drink a lot of beer.

Yeah, Riggins wasn't going anywhere near the zombies.

It was like a second home to Riggins.

Griff was in need of coffee, but he'd heard some interesting things about this bar he thought he should check out. Riggins behind the counter should not have been surprising. "Fancy seein' you here!"

There was a second's pause as Riggins tried to remember this kid's name. Cut him a break, he had been drinking when they met.

"Griff" Ah-ha, he remembered. "How goes it?"

Griff was actually pretty impressed Riggins remembered. "Good. You get a job already?" Maybe he should try that. Nah, he had good old Uncle A. T.

"Nah, I don't work here. Just doing the creepy guy a favor," Riggins said, pointing back at Tino. "I get free beer all night in return. Want one?"

Hey, if it was free beer then Riggins was all too willing to share.

"Free to students?" Griff had never heard of such a thing. "I'd be an idiot to say no, now wouldn't I."

"Yeah, you would be," Riggins agreed. He got Griff a bottle of the beer he was drinking because he didn't really do requests. You took what he gave you and liked it, dammit.

Griff was still relatively innocent when it came to these things. He decided to treat it like a bottle of coke...that tasted like ass. "That's...great, man. Great!"

He turned the bottle in his hands, not drinking that again for a minute. "So, how's it being you here?"

"Fine for the most part," Riggins said, taking a swig of his own beer. "The vice principal hates me for no good reason and keeps telling people I have VD but other than that it's been good."

God, he hoped he'd get to punch Deadpool for that.

"Still miss football though," he said with a slight frown. "What about you?"

"Should you report him for that?" Griff wondered. "Unless you have VD and then it's not like he's lying..."

"I don't have VD," Riggins said firmly. "And he's the vice principal. Reporting him ain't gonna do nothing."

And, you know, reporting him would mean Riggins would lose. Yes, it was possible to lose in this.

"You don't seem the type to just take that," Griff decided. "Who'd he tell you had VD?'

"Well he said it on radio so I take it he told most of the town," Riggins said. "But it's okay. First girl who accuses me of VD and I get to punch him. He told me so."

"Hit a teacher? In the face?" That could be entertaining. "You get to do it in the open with visitors and such?"

"We didn't discuss the details but he said that he'd give me a free shot if a girl called me out on it," Riggins said. Ignore the fact he was probably going to break his hand punching Deadpool.

"Hey, a free shot's free," Griff considered. "Wonder if he's in Fight Club."

"It'd be hard to miss him," Riggins said. "Wears bright red pajamas all the time"

"Pajamas?" Griff had not noticed anyone fitting that description. "How's he veep again?"

"Probably annoyed the principal until she gave him the job," Riggins said.

"Now I'm shocked Annoying Your Way Into Power isn't an offered course to fulfill the business requirement," he replied.

"It'll probably be offered next semester," Riggins said, smirking. "And he'll be teaching it."

Helen figured she deserved a drink or two after her class today. She nodded to the guy behind the bar. "Good evening."

"Hey," he said, giving her a nod. "What can I get you?"

He was gonna earn this free beer, dammit.

"I don't suppose you have Creema di Leema?" she said a bit wistfully.

"I have no idea what that is," Riggins said. That coming from a glorified alcoholic was impressive.

"It's not actually from this world," she admitted. "So I didn't actually expect to find it here. Do you perhaps have something a bit creamy and flavorful, but with a bit of a kick?"

"I think I can come up with something," Riggins said, giving her a smile. He was looking at her more closely now that she said she was from another world.

She smiled at him. "Thank you. It has been a long day."

Riggins grabbed the Kahlua and vodka, figuring that'd be good for what Helen wanted. "Oh yeah? Something bad happen in particular?"

He could totally do this chatty bartender thing.

"I had a class in archaeology. Where we were shot with poisoned darts and then had to outrun a giant falling stone and then natives shot at us with arrows..." She shuddered. "I do not wish to experience that again!"

Riggins almost spilled Kahlua everywhere he was so distracted by what Helen said. "...seriously?"

She raised an eyebrow at him. "Could I make that up?"

"Good point," Riggins said as he slid the drink he made over to Helen. "Sounds rough."

Helen took the drink, nodding. "It was. But my partner and I both escaped unharmed so that's something."

She took a cautious sip, then smiled at him. "I like this, thank you!"

Haley didn't drink often without her friends, and even then, it wasn't usually at a bar. Tonight, she was making an exception though. After her workout, she showered, pulled on the first band t-shirt she saw and a pair of jeans, and came to the bar.

She looked around a bit before actually settling at the bar; it seemed like a nice enough place. "Hey." She said to the man behind the bar. "Any chance I could get a whiskey and coke?"

If he drinks enough Riggins might be sleeping here.

I see nothing at all wrong with this plan.

Natalie Dormer's good for the staaaaaaaring, too. (Says she who used Natalie for girl!Romeo.)

She's preeeetty. I'd be oh-so-happy if she dyed her hair black again though! :D
