Guilty as Charged - 6/3 - Late Morning

It was weird. Haley thought she had already worked out all her pent up sexual frustration, but apparently, that feeling? You know, the one that made it seem like she needed some lovin' just to keep sane or something? It had resurfaced...with a vengeance.

Holding it in, she composed herself enough to get dressed and get to work. With the usual help wanted sign in the window, she settled behind the counter.

Her smile was innocent and her posture was comfortable as she kind of skimmed through a magazine, but her thoughts, and even her playlist in the shop for the day, weren't quite so clean. The first song over the speakers, "Ready for Love" by Bad Company pretty much summed that up, and the next consecutive song, "Touch Too Much" by AC/DC, just shamelessly confirmed it to no end.

Priestly was feeling . . . restless today.

So he figured he'd wander around and check out some of the stores he hadn't hit up, yet. And, hey, didn't that Haley girl say she had a skate shop? Might as well wander on in.

"Wow. Check this place out."

Haley's head turned towards the door with it's bell rung, recognizing Priestly with a smile and automatically trying hard to focus on his words rather than his body. She had a feeling she might have that problem with any member of the opposite sex today. "Irresistible, isn't it?"

Priestly was having much the same trouble.

Haley was just so . . . fit.

"Totally." Yes, he was talking about the shop, there. He had a girlfriend, for godssake, he shouldn't think about the flexibility of gymnasts. "You set this place up yourself?"

"Yeah, there was a lot to do, but I work hard and I really wanted to get it up and running, so..." She just shrugged and grinned once more.

"Wow." Priestly's eyes kept wandering from the stock back to her. "I'm seriously impressed. I can't imagine doin' all this. Guess I'm just lazy."

"I doubt you're lazy. After all, you can't be lazy and be in shape."

"No, but you can be kinda lazy and look like you're in shape." Priestly shrugged. "If I tried playing football right now, I'd get my ass killed. But apparently I'm doing well enough to run from aliens."

"Wait, what?" The flirting was on hold for the moment with the mention of aliens, and her expression quickly became confused. "Aliens? Have I missed something?"

"Oh yeah, aliens, zombies, mutant alligators that shoot piranhafied goldfish from their mouths. . . . This town's got it all."

"I saw the mutant alligators with the crazy goldfish; I even almost got bit by one of them. When were the aliens and zombies here? Recently?" It couldn't have been recently.

"Nah. Zombies was awhile ago. Aliens was . . . I dunno, week after graduation or so? You mighta gotten here after it all went down."

"Thank god." A beat. "I don't care about aliens, but zombies...I've seen far too many Romero films for that. I mean, they never get any less frightening for me." Haley admitted.

Priestly laughed. "Yeah, and they smell really bad, too." He rubbed the back of his head. "Worst part was? I thought the dude was a sick homeless guy. I was gonna help him. And all he wanted was to eat my brains."

Jon ducked into the shop and looked around. Seemed like even she was in a good mood today.

"Hey, boss, mind if I take the day off?"

"No, that's alright. Just chill with the 'boss' talk; it makes me feel old and responsible." Haley said with a grin.

"Okay, Haley." He rolled his eyes and laughed. "Pretty decent out today, don't spend it all in the shop," he told her as he headed for the door.

"Yeah, I know. I'm just hiding out in here till four and then I think I'm going to close up a bit early." Maybe some extra workout time would help with things.

I don't like it when they cut the grass. My head feels like it could explode right now, and I can't close the window because I'm afraid I might die from the heat if I do.

My allergy pill finally kicked in and I moved to your room. So, luckily, my headache went away and I'm alright now.
