Guilty as Charged - 6/3 - Late Morning

It was weird. Haley thought she had already worked out all her pent up sexual frustration, but apparently, that feeling? You know, the one that made it seem like she needed some lovin' just to keep sane or something? It had resurfaced...with a vengeance.

Holding it in, she composed herself enough to get dressed and get to work. With the usual help wanted sign in the window, she settled behind the counter.

Her smile was innocent and her posture was comfortable as she kind of skimmed through a magazine, but her thoughts, and even her playlist in the shop for the day, weren't quite so clean. The first song over the speakers, "Ready for Love" by Bad Company pretty much summed that up, and the next consecutive song, "Touch Too Much" by AC/DC, just shamelessly confirmed it to no end.

"True." Haley agreed. "But your shiny objects don't make me want to eat your brains, they just make me wonder if I could ever pull off a shiny object so well." A beat. "I don't think I could."

"Nah, it's all about finding the right features, you know? Piercings are an accent. They draw the eye. So you use them kinda like a highlighter or something.'

Haley nodded. "Alright, say I'm thinking about a piercing, what do you think I should highlight? I've already got my ears covered."

"And they are some great ears." Excuse to stare at her face? Okay! "I'd go with brow or nose."

"I was thinking about my belly button a while back, but then everyone had one, I figured I'd probably hurt myself with it, and I really don't have enough short girly shirts that would show it off anyway. Brow is something to think about though."

"Oh, totally. Though if you're worried about it catching on stuff or something, I'd say nose. It's easier to take out and put back in."

Haley nodded once more. "One of these days, I'll have something permanent on my body that isn't just another scar."

"For the moment though, I'm probably going to try to stick clear of it. I mean, I do what I want, but I don't want to give my coach a heart attack when I finally do get back. I mean, I've already practically broken his arm and I'm sure I've sprained his ego a couple of times." Haley joked.

Priestly looked impressed. "You broke his arm?"

"By proxy of a tram. It wasn't on purpose though. I just told him I wasn't coming back until he did a layout on the tram. He did the layout, and then flew off and broke his arm." Really, it was his fault, but Haley got some dirty looks for it.

Priestly grinned. Yeah, he didn't know what half those words meant. "He shoulda known better."

"He did, but he wanted me back." A beat. "I'm pretty good, you know?" Haley said with a grin.

"Sounds like." Priestly rocked back on his heels. "I'd love to see ya do it sometime. . . ."

"I don't think it'd be wise to try something in here, but if you can find a clear, softer surface, I'd be happy to show you my tricks."

"I think there's a gym in town. They might have some gymnastics stuff?"

"Yeah, they do, if you don't mind meeting me there some time. I'm also in the park sometimes when the gym gets a bit crowded." Believe it or not, she sort of liked working alone so no one could see her when she fell on her ass, but she could show off a little.

"Sounds like a date."

Wait. What?

"Uh, I mean deal. Deal. Not date."

Haley grinned. "Guess you're taken then. Either that or the idea of date with me must be pretty bad." Because she didn't remember him mentioning a girlfriend before so she had to ask.

Priestly shook his head. "The first one. Sorry. You're totally hot."

She laughed a bit at that. "No need to apologize. I'm sorry if I'm..." She didn't want to say flirting, but she think she might have been.

"Anyway, it's a deal."

"Right on." Hey, he couldn't complain, he'd totally been flirting back.

Not really his usual style. He was just . . . in that sort of mood, he guessed.

"Anything I can you with in here in the meantime? Or are you just browsing?" A beat. "We got some new skates in if you want to check them out."

"Just browsing, really. Figured I'd check the place out." Priestly perked up a little at the mention of skates. "Sure, let's see what you got."

Haley jumped out from behind the counter and lead the way. If she couldn't look at Priestly, she could, at least, show off the pretty skates.
