The Boards - Thursday, 6/23 - REHEARSAL!
Anyone who came to rehearsal would notice the store-bought brace in Geoffrey's ankle, as well as the fact that he was hobbling around. Someone had missed a puddle of sludge and slipped in it this morning.
"Thank you very much, all of you, for your help last Thursday. Rest assured, that will not happen again, and we should be able to proceed with rehearsals sans mops. We're finishing the play up for the first time on stage today, so considering that, if anyone has any choreography experience, they really should talk to Tony."
He grinned and slapped his hands together.
"And now? Let's get this show on the road."
[ocd up!]

Re: Rehearsal - Act 5
"His child is dead," he said gently, "and there's nothing he can do about it. All he can do is try and reconcile himself with it, use this... horrible thing that happened."

"Death turns everything upside down. He has to make sense of the world again."
Re: Rehearsal - Act 5
Why then, God's soldier be he!
Dinah tried to put her own faking-it-determination into this, to make something true by saying it aloud, and saying it as loudly as you could.
Had I as many sons as I have hairs,
I would not wish them to a fairer death.
And maybe he was less happy his son didn't die a coward, as glad he wasn't afraid? That if Young Stewart had to die, it was definite and fast enough that he didn't suffer? Dinah's voice trembled.
And so, his knell is knolled.
At the new king's protests, Dinah forced fierceness into her voice: if Stewart was going to mourn his son, it wasn't going to be in public, when there was still work to be done.
He's worth no more.
They say he parted well and paid his score.
And leave me alone, this is not something to think about now, or I'll break.
And so, God be with him! Here comes newer comfort.
And turn away, and don't swipe at the eyes, even if they are a little shiny now.
