Luke's Diner; Wednesday [ 09/23 ].

It would seem that whatever had passed over the island had once again been forced to pause at Cal, tilt its head, scratch at it a little, and then move on, barred by some technicality that was working in Cal's favor without him even knowing it. This was actually incredibly fortuitous, because if it hadn't been for his chromosomes (just as, in the past, it hadn't been for his plumbing), he might have been stuck with having to explain why he was as traumatized, if not more so, than some of the girls on the island.

And it was a good thing, too, because he'd had enough of that sort of trauma in his life, thanks, and, besides, how the hell was he going to get these invitations for Ino's birthday party tomorrow finished if he was stuck in trauma?

He did feel that there was a more manly swagger to his walk than he usually tried to put in it, though.

Sure, he could have probably just sent an email, but he still wasn't that keen on computer.

Irulan made a beeline to the diner after procuring clothes from Things Reborn. She was hungry and still a little frazzled from the change and the fact that her own servant threw her out of her own home.

"Any hearty breakfast food you have, please."

"We talking steak, omelette, potatoes, bacon, sausage, toast, the works?" Cal asked, arching an eyebrow slightly at the frazzled fellow.

Cal frowned, making the completely understandable mistake that this was not just some guy, but, in fact, some girl he didn't even know.

You think he'd be better at telling the difference.

"What are you talking about?"

Dinah wandered in on her break, still not totally comfortable in her skin, but willing to eat a lot of food just to see if she could. "Dude. I need a ton of baklava today."

"That's...good," Cal said, eying the unfamiliar guy and probably jossing himself from an earlier conversation with cluelessness, "because we've got a lot of it."

"Saganaki too?" Dinah gave Cal a very hopeful look. "And maybe two of those salad pitas." She spun on the spinny stool, then had to grab the counter because (a) that was a lot faster than usual, and (b) wrong center of gravity. "Agh."

There was a bit of a pause from Cal, because that spinning was....kind of familiar. "All that?" he ended up asking, eying the guy suspiciously. "Got a hollow leg or something?"

Leto had walked into town this morning, not noticing anything particularly strange. He stopped by the diner for breakfast, and was planning on visiting Alice later at Groovy Tunes. He had no classes on Wednesdays, and saw no reason to spend the day in the dorms.
