No one had visited Tyler this year. He could afford to be smug, although, as a mission of charity, he'd brought in an array of chips, pastries and other snacks. "I think everyone in the room gets a cookie for living through yet another parents' weekend," he declared. "And guests, welcome."

Ghanima was doing her best not to laugh. "We haven't lived through it yet," she reminded him. "But we're glad you're all here. The rules are on the door, but since there's so many people today, we're going to forgo assigned matches."

"Open sparring only," Tyler agreed. "Go to it."

As if you haven't had enough of this for the weekend... chatter, warm up, size up the competition.

...also, I am having horrid notif problems with Ghani's account this weekend. If you need me for anything and I'm not noticing, just hit me over AIM/email/gchat.

Ghanima was there, and perfectly happy to talk to people between matches.

Jack still had a bit of a chip on his shoulder, but he was trying to work it out and stay positive.

Jack was ready to take on anyone. Lefty and Righty were anxious to show their stuff.

Having had no one to visit him this weekend, Leto was probably less exhausted than others. It might be an advantage today. He arrived early, watching the others gather.

No way was Rose missing Fight Club today, and if someone tried to call her on the purpling black eye, she was going to point to Dimitri's voicemail. Her teacher had told her to be here, dammit, and that's where she was.

So she was stretching, not really expecting to spar today, but still loosening up after the ass-kicking she'd had the day before.

Tyler was in the mood for a spar, so he cruised the group of people looking for partners.

... not dirty.

Tyler let himself have two cookies. He'd been good.

"I need to talk to you when you have a second," Tyler informed her.

As much as Claire had enjoyed seeing her mother, she was glad that she had to leave before Fight Club. Because that would have been difficult to explain.

So she was celebrating that she was still in Fandom and stretching.

Harper had slacked off a bit for the last few weeks, owing to an ankle injury and a broken heart, but she was here today.

Harper hadn't worked out in weeks and it showed. Her balance was off, her punches her sloppy, and the skills she'd made over the summer definitely weren't evident today.

Fight Club! Helena was excited about this. Dinah had mentioned that there were some pretty good fighters around here, and it would be nice to practice against someone who might actually push her. She was grinning broadly as she stretched a bit.

For some reason, K-Mart felt like she needed to be at Fight Club today. She'd ~~handwavily~~ invited Alice but didn't know if the woman was going to come. If she didn't, that was all right. If she did, that was great, too.

K-Mart found a spot and started stretching.

It was a subdued Elle at Fight Club today. She gave Claire a slight wave before settling in to warm up.

"So what makes you think that I won't use this as an excuse to take you down permanently?" Bryce asked with a grin as he followed Savannah out onto the floor.

Savannah tightened her ponytail and laughed. "For one, Benicio Cortez is still on the island and you'd never get away with it. Second, you see that pretty woman over there?" She pointed to Ghanima. "That's Ms. Ghanima. If you try to seriously harm me, you don't want to even imagine what she'll do to you. She's very protective of her kids. And third," she grinned. "It wouldn't be your style. You want to one day take me down with magic. You wouldn't resort to physically taking me out at a school because that would make you look weak, a coward and call into question your skills."

What? She knew enough about the Nasts that she could figure it out.

Dinah was there to keep Helena in line... or, alternatively, to beat up someone's family member, if they needed it.

"Hey," Claire said, scooting over next to Elle. "What's up?"

"I like the way you think," Bryce said with an approving nod.

From him, that was damn near a compliment.

"Not much," Elle said, managing a smile. "How was your Parents Weekend? Get any visitors?"

Savannah smiled. "I'm a fast learner. Been learning all of my life."
