Didi came into work today to find that Apu had already taken down the Halloween decorations ... and started replacing them with tinsel, Santa Clauses, and snowflakes. Bing Crosby was on the stereo.

"The leaves aren't even off the trees!" she argued. "Thanksgiving is weeks away!"

He shrugged and kept hanging evergreen garlands.

Deciding she had to join that which she could not beat, Didi put on a set of reindeer antlers and plopped behind the counter with a celebrity gossip magazine.

Squishy flavors: Eggnog, Christmas Cookie, Red.

Tully stopped in the doorway, looking rather perplexed. "Did I...I didn't fall into some kind of coma and miss about a month did I?"

Somehow he'd never realized that advertising for Christmas traditionally started right after Halloween. After all, who really celebrated Thanksgiving these days?

"You'd know that better than I would," Didi pointed out wisely. "Did you hit your head lately?"

"In a general holiday kind of way, sure." Tully shrugged. "I won't get specifically celebratory yet though. Though I gotta say the antlers do kind of suit you."

True Story: I work with a guy who part-times at a store and they had to stay overnight on Halloween to get their Christmas stuff up. This post is for him.
