"Oh Tino, don't you just love this movie," Adora sighed, leaning on the counter and staring adoringly at the television screen. "I hope it ends happily with a shared kiss!"

Tino responded with a pathetic cough, his forehead smushed against the bar and his eyelids fluttering in exhaustion. Someone shouldn't have come to work tonight. The draw of boobs was obviously too great to keep him away.

"The prince so wants to marry the strong and dynamic student, and yet, his accented family doesn't approve of his choice!" Another sigh. "These are the evenings I miss my prince. Do you have a special friend, Tino? One to have the sex with?"

The only answer she got was snoring. Adora smiled over at the bartender, feeling sorry for him as she draped a bar towel over his shoulders. "Sleep now, friend. I shall do the work tonight."

"I'm not looking for friends to flirt with," she said simply. Because she was never doing anything like that again, yadda yadda.

Mat arched up an eyebrow but wasn't going to push it. "Suit yourself," he said with a little shrug. "What are you drinking?"

"Something absolutely horrible," she said, holding up her drink. "Probably best not to tell the bartender to surprise you."

Mat peered at it. "Any ideas what that poor thing began life as?"

"If I thought about it too hard, I wouldn't be drinking it," she said, frowning at it before taking a drink. "Does the job, though. That's what counts, right?"

"It depends what the job is that you are looking for. If you were aiming to enjoy yourself, maybe not," Mat replied. "If you just want to drink until you can't see straight, well."

"I'm drinking until it's socially acceptable for me to leave," she explained.

Mat blinked. "Let me guess. You're not a great deal of fun at parties."

"I can be," she considered. "The last few weeks? Not in the slightest. Good thing there haven't been any parties."

"So why are you drinking to meet some kind of self-imposed checklist?" Mat asked, taking a sip from his ale.

"Because I will get told how fun I'm not if I don't make the effort." She was completely half-assing that effort, but it really would end up all the same in the end.

"Fun, and correct me if I'm wrong but this is rather my area of expertise, isn't generally supposed to be timed," Mat said, tilting his head. "It's supposed to be pleasurable."
