Streets of Fandom by the School Gate, Saturday Morning
It was as good a time as any to check on the horses. Arthur had just made his rounds in that regard, patting his own on the neck and checking them over for any signs of discomfort or trouble when he'd heard the noise.
It was Fandom. Unexpected noise was rarely a good thing. Especially while it was still dark out.
With a frown on his face, he'd ventured on out with his sword drawn, down to the gates.
Now he was there. And he was well aware of where the noise was coming from. Had, in fact, already texted as many as he could with a warning (and a mention of his position to Merlin) before the creatures had taken his phone.
Slicing through gremlin guts to get his Blackberry back was not how Arthur had expected the morning would go. Especially not at this hour.
[[ ooopen. ...and let's just say it's still darkish out here, shall we? i totally know my gremlin canon. yes. ]]

There was a gremlin throwing things at him; it made it hard to approach.

"Run along and grab your gadget, Arthur."

He'd gotten so out of practice with this sort of thing.
"...what are they?" Merlin asked, looking around.

Arthur may be terribly annoying, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to assist him. This had nothing to do with the man frequently telling him he was only good at talking.

Honestly, Arthur was a bit surprised to see Leto even remembered how to fight. He sliced off one gremlin's head with a clean blow. "They're wily!" he called; grievances had no place on the battlefield.
Not that he trusted Leto any anymore. Dammit. "Watch your back!" ...a little, then.

"So, let me get this straight," he was saying, idly, to a gremlin that had seen fit to bite him on the arm. It was now backing away from Zack at swordpoint. "Your bites don't make people go crazy. They don't even make people depressed, they just... bleed a lot?"
The gremlin gave a desperate sort of nod. Zack just rolled his eyes at it.
"Wow. You guys are boring."
And then the gremlin didn't have a head anymore.

Arthur had been out here fighting these things for what felt like a full hour. He wasn't as much interested in witty banter. "Have you seen the state of the island?"
He needed to know how far this thing had spread.

And then he saw the group of people fighting even more of these creatures.
"This is one of those invasions, isn't it?" Bruce asked as he got close to the others. A gremlin jumped onto his back, but found itself quickly thrown over his shoulder to the ground.

But first he thought he'd stop by the school to make sure the school was being defended. Clearly he needn't have worried.
Also clearly, he'd run into a few of the little buggers on his way up here.
"Looks like you guys got it under control." Tim said.

She was already

"Karla," Arthur called. "How's the dorms?"

And also from around the street corner was a rather pumped-up Gunn carrying his "homemade" battle axe.
"That's how we handle things in my neighborhood!" Gunn shouted at the dead gremlins. "Come on! Who else want's a piece of me?!"
Apparently that would be the two gremlins on the lampost who jumped down on top of Gunn.
"Oh! So that's how we're going to play?" Gunn growled as he flung one of them off.
Believe or not? He's having fun.

... First names again. Hi, Gunn, meet the medieval guy.
"How long have you been out in the streets?"

Except that one over there who'd gotten hit by a glue bomb arrow he'd grabbed accidentally. It was currently stuck to the cobblestones and struggling. Roy was ignoring it in favor of yanking arrows out of gremlins for reuse. "Yo," he said mildly, then spun on his heel to shoot another one, lightning-quick.

He was a little preoccupied with stabbing the gremlin Roy had left behind.
