Atlas Gym - Tuesday

Rose was in the midst of a serious if mental debate as she worked. For one thing, it distracted her from scrubbing all the stupid corners of the gym where little bits of gross dried mud and jello had ended up. Not to mention the little slicks of oil drops on the wall.

So yes, on one hand, there was really annoying stupid cleaning to be done, but on the other hand, the reason for the intensive clean had given her the opportunity to talk Dimitri into skipping out of Fight Club and finding their way back to his apartment. Which was way more amazing than she'd ever imagined.

The debate wasn't anywhere near being resolved, especially as Rose turned her attention to the the pile of mats that were next on the list to washed down. She made a face then refilled her bucket of soapy water to start on that project. It was amazing how the one time she'd've liked to see Jessi and make her do some of the chores, the annoying pink spandex girl was nowhere to be found. Typical.

Dimitri gave her a look because really? Rose on good behavior? "Think of it as training, not the time for cleaning."

Well, yes, she had been, but that was not the topic at hand.

"Why not just see where we go?" Dimitri asked, undecided on the where just yet.

If there was something Dimitri could do, it was follow Rose. No part of him minded at all. "It's the best part about this daylight savings thing."

Dimitri's tan could always be easily explained by his love of being out in the sunlight whenever he had the time. "If he gets up later, he goes to bed later," Dimitri warned. "At least he's predictable."

"Or drunk," Dimitri added pointedly. "You know, he seems to think I'm always on duty and no fun." Maybe he was curious if Rose agreed.

"Maybe so," he said, frowning a little at himself as she looked away. "But I'm not against fun."

"How would I do that?" Dimitri asked, eyes amused by the mischief he saw though unsure if he knew how to match it on command.

He should know.

"Hmm, come on," Dimitri said, reaching for her hand before heading with quick feet toward the cove area.

"Part of the fun is finding out," he told her, sending a small smile over his shoulder at her as he pulled her across the street toward the little beach. "But it involves sun."

"You know, that's not a half-bad idea," Dimitri teased. "Even if I don't know how much we'll appreciate all that sand." He still thought too much even if he understood fun.

Dimitri's smile grew a little wider. "I bet you're right. Feel like spending some time in the sand?" Not like he was giving her the choice the way he was walking like a man on a mission.

"I never realized proving I'm fun could be so involved," Dimitri answered, his shoes sinking into the sand finally.

Slowing as they got closer to the water he warned, "This may or may not conform to your idea of fun."

"No," he said, stopping and letting go of her hand to bend down and take his shoes off. Kindness prevailed and he reached for her foot while he was close to the ground.
