Streets of Fandom [Wednesday, Late Afternoon]
Chuck wasn't the biggest follower of the news, so he'd managed to skip over all the Bad Things that were filtering through into public knowledge over the radio.
If he'd known, today would not be the day he'd have picked to organise sizzling shrimp night with Ellie, and they would not have been walking over to Ching Tai in this damp, almost suffocatingly thick fog.
"You know, it's really lucky I know where my feet are," Chuck commented. "Because if I didn't know better, I'd think they weren't even there." Stupid fog.
[[He's there for that sister of his, but the streets of Fandom are of course open if anyone needs them. Up early for the great SP!]]

She shuddered slightly. "This fog is creepy."
no subject
"Doesn't fog usually burn off during the day?" Well, it did if it was normal fog, and there was sunshine around.
no subject
The fog was just so think and...there was just something not right about it.
no subject
Probably just someone else as lost as they were, right?
"I can go for that," he agreed, not covering the nerves in his voice all that well. Chuck would never be good at disguising when things freaked him out.

"I think Morgan will be jealous that you're having sizzling shrimp without him," she said with a nervous laugh. She was trying to keep things light as they headed in the direction of the restaurant.
no subject
"Probably shouldn't tell him," Chuck decided with an uncomfortable chuckle of his own as he tried to follow her lighter lead. "Not if I want to hear the end of it."

Trouble was, he was having to force himself to blink away the flickering images at the edges of his vision. Nothing there. Right.

There were many things Chuck would do for that particular goal. Including venture out in freaky fog.
"It's shrimp night. We do not abandon shrimp night!"

She hadn't realized she had walked slightly further ahead.

"Ellie, not funny, come back here?"

Chuck would be backing away now with a squeaked, "Oh god." This was bad. "Ellie!"
no subject
"Chuck, where are you? Just, run, okay? Go back to the dorms!" Yes, that would be panic in her voice now. What if the strange creature hurt her little brother?
no subject
Mutually protective, these two.
"What did you do with her?" If this were pixelated, he'd be kicking ass. As it was, he was taking another step back. "Ellie!"
no subject
She looked around, trying to locate Chuck. "Chuck! Where are you? You gotta trust me. Please run!"
She was close to tears, hoping the words got through to him somehow.
no subject
"You're getting out of here too!" he ordered, not really knowing if she was behind the thing, in the fog, or what. If she wasn't back at the dorms when he was, he would be coming right back out here after her, fog or not.
Sizzling shrimp was so not worth this.
no subject
"I am, I promise. Now run!" Ellie followed her own instructions as well, running as fast as she could back to the dorms.
