The Beach, Sunday Afternoon

Savannah and K-Mart had decided that taking the kidlets outside for awhile would be a very good idea.

They gathered up everyone and headed out to the beach. The way the girls thought, the beach would give plenty of room for running and playing...

...and maybe Storm and Alice-Claire would burn off some of that energy that they seemed to have an unending supply of.

"Can we call Daddy?" Storm demanded.

"In a little bit," Savannah promised. "He's probably not awake yet."

Unlike Savannah and K-Mart, who had been awake since four a.m. Johnny should be very grateful that Savannah loved him too much to wake him up at that ungodly hour.

"Storm, no magic in the water!"

She doubted that either of the girls would listen to her on that. She sighed and looked at LJ. "LJ?"

He grinned, already moving after the two girls. "Don't worry, Aunt Savannah. I'll keep an eye on my sisters."

Savannah and K-Mart collapsed on the sand after spreading out towels and blankets. It was probably going to be a very long day.

"Where the hell did our daughter get that much energy?" K-Mart wondered aloud. "I mean, seriously. My other kid's not like that!"

Eve had been in Angel Grove -- yes, still, she liked it there! -- when she'd gotten the handwavy phone call from Gwynn. Well, Gwynn's phone, as Mairin had commandeered it.

After a conversation that had Eve missing her daughter, she'd booked a last-minute portal (and paid through the nose for it, too) so she could go and visit her family.

She'd also neglected to call Savannah. Yay, surprises!

Which explained the cheerful grin as she walked towards them.

Annja was more than a little relieved when she saw that she wasn't the only one in the extended family with the beach idea.

She was holding Stana -- who was a sweet, shy child -- by one hand, and Jenna with the other. Jenna, not surprisingly, had decided she was very protective of Stana.

This made it much easier on Annja and Sean since all four girls seemed to get along.

"Aunt Savannah!" Jenna squealed and started running to Savannah for a hug.

At her side, she felt Stana tense up.

"Baby, what is it," she asked as she swung the little girl up into her arms.

Stana promptly burst into great wailing tears and buried her face against Annja's neck.

After playing in the park for awhile, Gwynn called Eve who said she would be booking a portal to come to Fandom. She called K-Mart to find out where LJ was as Mairin had decreed that she had been away from him for long enough today.

Finding out that K-Mart and Savannah were at the beach, Gwynn had talked to Tim and that would be why they were now making their way across the sand with their three girls.

Ok, so only Marion belonged to Tim, but really. She doubted that right now the semantics of who belonged to which father (or mother) really mattered right now.

The other good thing about bringing the kids to the beach? More sets of parents to watch the girls so she and Tim could talk. She felt the need to tell him just who Telyn's father was.

Oh such fun.

Annja held Stana close, rubbing her hand up and down her back. "I thought you liked Aunt Savannah, sweetie? We named you after her."

Jenna heard her sister's distress and started tugging Savannah to them.

"But she's s'posed to be dead!" Stana said, hiccuping in the middle of her sentence.

Savannah heard the wails from Annja's daughter and she allowed Jenna to pull her into a run over to her sister-in-law.

"Annja, what's wrong? Is she okay?"

And she got there just in time to hear Stana's bombshell.

"Who's supposed to be dead, sweetie?"

Hope was pretty sure her kids were going to kill each other before the return portal came to take them home. She was pulling Helen and Gabriel off each other every five minutes, it felt like.

Never mind that the two of them were now getting along for the most part and that this was apparently their way of showing affection. She still thought it was gonna end with somebody dying.

Which was why she'd brought them to the beach and turned them loose, in the hopes that there'd be some energy worn off so she could regain her sanity.

Chloe had been so relieved to get the call from her big sibling. It was of her opinion that she should have warned her that this insanity was going to happen.

"SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!" Kendra shrieked pull free to run through it. "Sand Sand Sand Sand Sand!"

Chloe whimpered as she collapsed next to K-Mart.

"Mommmy! It's not sleepstime yet! It's time to play in the sand and the water."

"Your mommy's just a little worn out, sweetie," K-Mart said to the little girl. "You go on and play -- she's watching you."

Mairin saw her first and took off running towards her.

"MMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Volume control did not exist yet.

"You are," Stana mumbled, peeking up slightly to look at Savannah.

Savannah's face paled until it her eyes were the only color in her face.

"Where are you from, sweethheart?"

"Fandom," Stana said, tensing like she thought she'd done or said something wrong. "But not this Fandom. I'm from a Fandom that's not very good."

After Mairin ran off to see Eve and LJ, Telyn decided that she was going investigate each of the other people here in case they were out to hurt her Mommy or her Daddy. She had her bow and arrow and she would make the bad guys know that nobody tried to hurt her Mommy.

When she started wandering off, she heard a sigh from behind her. "Telyn, where are you going?"

"I'm going to make that bad guys realize that they had better not try to hurt my Mommy, Marion."

Marion turned to look at Gwynn. "Don't worry, Mom. I'll keep an eye on her."

Eve laughed and scooped her daughter up. "Hi, baby," she said, hugging her tightly. "You've been being a good girl for Mama and everybody, right?"

It didn't take Savannah long to do the math. Stana was from a very bad Fandom where Savannah was dead."

"Stana, are their vampires in that world?"

"Uh-huh," Stana said with a slightly less cautious nod. "Grandma Eve was one before someone made her go poof."

And that'd be when she caught sight of Eve down the beach and whimpered, faceplanting into her mother's neck again.

Stana peeked at Savannah suspiciously for a moment. "Are you sure?"

Stana wrinkled her nose for a second, thinking about that...

... only to hold her arms out to Savannah for a hug, narrowly avoiding smacking her mother in the face.
