The Beach, Sunday Afternoon
Savannah and K-Mart had decided that taking the kidlets outside for awhile would be a very good idea.
They gathered up everyone and headed out to the beach. The way the girls thought, the beach would give plenty of room for running and playing...
...and maybe Storm and Alice-Claire would burn off some of that energy that they seemed to have an unending supply of.
"Can we call Daddy?" Storm demanded.
"In a little bit," Savannah promised. "He's probably not awake yet."
Unlike Savannah and K-Mart, who had been awake since four a.m. Johnny should be very grateful that Savannah loved him too much to wake him up at that ungodly hour.
"Storm, no magic in the water!"
She doubted that either of the girls would listen to her on that. She sighed and looked at LJ. "LJ?"
He grinned, already moving after the two girls. "Don't worry, Aunt Savannah. I'll keep an eye on my sisters."
Savannah and K-Mart collapsed on the sand after spreading out towels and blankets. It was probably going to be a very long day.

Finding out that K-Mart and Savannah were at the beach, Gwynn had talked to Tim and that would be why they were now making their way across the sand with their three girls.
Ok, so only Marion belonged to Tim, but really. She doubted that right now the semantics of who belonged to which father (or mother) really mattered right now.
The other good thing about bringing the kids to the beach? More sets of parents to watch the girls so she and Tim could talk. She felt the need to tell him just who Telyn's father was.
Oh such fun.

When she started wandering off, she heard a sigh from behind her. "Telyn, where are you going?"
"I'm going to make that bad guys realize that they had better not try to hurt my Mommy, Marion."
Marion turned to look at Gwynn. "Don't worry, Mom. I'll keep an eye on her."

"We should. It never hurts to know what's going on in your life no matter where that life is."
She shook her head, sounding both confused (not a new thing for Gwynn) and sad (which very much was a new thing.)

"No. Phillip would never hurt me. He would never hurt a child." Part of it was possibly because he knew she could beat him in a fight. "However, his enemies would." She looked over at the girls and then looked back at Tim. "If his enemies were to find out that Phillip loved a woman and that he had an illegitimate child they would be used as ways to hurt him or..."

"No," she finally said softly. "Her Phillip doesn't know. He can't ever be told." She was quiet for a long moment before looking back at Tim. "He would want to claim her as his, show the entire realm that he has a daughter and a woman that he loves. Doing so would threaten his throne and perhaps all of Briton as well."
She brushed her hair back. "And Tim, my Phillip can't know that such a world or child exists, either."

"Well next time I talk to him I promise not to tell him." he said with an ironic grin. Since it wasn't too likely he'd be in a position to talk to Philip all that often.

She gave him a smile. "He doesn't need to get any more ideas where he and I are concerned." She shook her head. "This Gwynn is not that Gwynn and I have no interest in being that version of me at all."
Oh alternate universes, how you do like giving headaches.

"I'm not the same girl that I was four years ago. The love I have for my King is not the love of a woman for a man. He is my best friend and my King and I have pledged my weapons to him in time of battle... but I do not love him." She shook her head. "My heart lies elsewhere."
