Jaina arrived back in Fandom too late to unpack any of her things, but a little early for work. Figuring it was better to be early, she ditched her stuff in her room and headed into town, opening the door to the bar-

And found Tino once again naked behind the bar. She would never, ever ask what she would have seen if she'd been any earlier.

Two minutes later, he was clothed and sanitizing everything while she kept glowering at him. Too bad she couldn't bleach her brain.

Angua, for the most part, didn't really spend a lot of time at the bar, but she knew that tonight was one of those nights where it didn't entirely reek of vampire* and she really didn't have anything better to do, anyway.

So here she was, for a bit, anyway, ordering quite specifically, "Anything other than a Coors Light."

"Sergeant," Vimes said, greeting her with the smallest of nods.

"Sir," Angua nodded back, and almost lifted a reproachful eyebrow at him, but it only got about half-way, remembering the whole Vimes Lite thing, so maybe him being in a bar...the only one in town...wasn't something to have to go and drop hints like a hammer around Lady Sibyl about.

"Good, hopping Saturday night, eh?"

"Well that sounds completely not picky," Jaina said lightly, cutting the glaring at Tino in order to get what she found was the default drink of 'I'll have whatever' orders: whatever was on tap.

Vimes gave the liquor a look of longing more aptly found in romantic literature. But, seeing as how this was not a romance novel, he was left to only admire from a distance.

"Lemonade?"

He hadn't since the business with the dragon and La--Sybil. It was a good streak to be on, no doubt.

"Easy enough, thank you for that," Jaina said, going to get the drink together. "I think you're my first lemonade customer."

Vimes wasn't a complicated man, let alone a complicated drink man. As long as it got you nice and soused*, it was good enough for him.

When he did drink, that is.

"I don't see why not. It's quite refreshing," he replied, not at all sounding like he bought his own line.


*And hopefully not blind.

"Lemonade?" Yeah, you could toss Algren into the camp of people who didn't hear orders like that one in a bar often. It was likely to be a large camp, actually. "I suppose it's healthier than Coke, at least."

Depending on how sugar-saturated it was.

"I don't even know what that is," Vimes replied, eying Algren's drink warily. I looked more like something an alchemist would concoct.

Algren was two days away from his final, and slowly going mad trying to figure out what the hell to actually test his students on. And so he was going to treat himself to a night at the bar.

Really. This was a brilliant plan, the likes of which the universe might never see again.

"Coke," he ordered, looking longingly thoughtfully at the liquor selection. "With ice."

Fancy.

Coke she was used to serving! "Done and done," she told him, getting a glass.

And when Tino went to get the ice, Jaina just glared and made a gesture for him to keep on cleaning.

"Coming right up," she said cheerfully to her customer.

Algren's gaze followed that glare, and he found himself entirely too amused. After all, Tino... Would be Tino.

"Dare I ask what his escapade for the evening was?"

Because there had to be something. Glowers like that one didn't come out of nowhere, generally.

"Algren." Angua gave the fellow a nod, thinking that it would figure the one time she actually did hop into the bar, there'd actually be people she knew there. "How are we, then?"

"I have no complaints. I managed to get through a weekend that was liberally saturated in the island's usual madness, unscathed." Which, for him, was a big deal, damn it. "And my class is nearly over for the semester. That's a small victory all on its own. Has the island been treating you well, Angua?"

Kyle wandered into the bar and took a seat. "Jaina. I'll have some whiskey."

"I can do that," she said, giving him a smile as she got the drink together. "I'm sure you'll be happy to know you're not the only one who gets the naked Tino treatment."

"I was hoping nobody else would have the privilege in public," Kyle said. "It's only happened to Jedi, right? Are we sure he isn't a Sith or something?"

Vimes did not give the whiskey a baleful look as he lifted his lemonade in Kyle's direction as way of greeting.
