Graduation was a fun time for everyone with all the guests, cake, and hugging happening around the island.

Well, everyone but Tino. He never seemed to get to leave.

Sad.

But there was a party at Caritas tonight and Clark decided he could go the extra mile to make the lounge look a little festive. Blue and gold paper streamers and balloons awaited any graduates, birthday boys, and friends who might stop in for a drink. Or a balloon animal - if he could figure out how to make something not a snake.

"You got drunk and killed a whore. That actually happens more often than you would think," Chuck said. Not that he'd encourage that type of thing. "Try not to drink the whole bar tonight, okay? Save some for the birthday boy."

Castiel nodded. "I'll maintain a sense of . . . moderation." This bottle was totally his, though. "I may need to find painkillers later, though."

"There's aspirin in the back with the other medical stuff," Chuck said, a little surprised that Castiel was getting hangovers. "I've got you covered."

To be fair, it did take entire stores full of booze to give him one. He nodded. "I'll remember that. I'm not sure we have any, at the church."

"You might want to consider getting a bottle or two if you plan to keep on drinking liquor stores," Chuck told him. "Not that I'm encouraging you to do that at all."

Why yes, there was a Sam-sounding voice in his head telling him not to encourage the angel to do anything too reckless. It was annoying.

Castiel peered at him. "You'd drink a whole liquor store," he said, maybe a little petulantly. "If you had the capacity to do so."

Chuck frowned. "I'm not exactly the best example of healthy living."

"Should I model my behavior on Dean, then? We had to keep him locked in the panic room, towards the end."

"Why would you do that to him?" Chuck asked, looking confused.

"He was determined to say 'yes' to Michael. Call it a 'suicide watch'."

Chuck knew what saying yes meant in relation to Lucifer thanks to having met the guy, but he barely had an idea who Michael was outside of conversations he had with Castiel. "That angel guy wanted Dean? And Dean was going to let it happen?"

That didn't very sound very Dean-like.

"So Michael could stop Lucifer. And most likely kill more than half the planet -- Dean included -- in the bargain." Followed by an eternity of Heaven on Earth, which, sure, looked good on paper, but apparently wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Okay, now Chuck could understand the panic room thing. "Wow, Dean's a fucking idiot."

Castiel considered that. "Yes. A self-sacrificial idiot."

"Okay, definitely don't model yourself after him," Chuck decided. He sighed. "Look, I'm not saying you should stop drinking. I'm just...I don't want you to take it too far. I ended up hurting a lot of people when I went on that bender after my dad died."

Castiel frowned. "I did tell Sam I found his voice grating. Then I called him an abomination. That part's technically true, though."

"Sam's voice is grating," Chuck said. That's why it worked so well as his conscience, dammit. "But please don't call the Sam here an abomination on his birthday."

"I don't expect it to come up in conversation."

"Did it come up in conversation when you brought it up to the other Sam?" Chuck asked. He somehow doubted that.

"The Whore of Babylon could only be killed by a true servant of Heaven. Being an abomination disqualifies him."

"Ah." Poor Sam. He just couldn't catch a break. "Well, okay, I guess that was called for then."

There had to have been a better word than abomination, though.

"He seemed to take it in stride." Of course, Castiel had been insulting him almost nonstop at the time, but still.

"He usually does," Chuck said with a nod. "I insult him all the time. I'm just being affectionate, though."

"I didn't say it to damage him." Well, he mostly didn't. "He's my friend."

"I know that. And he knows that too, I'm sure," Chuck said. "That's probably why he didn't seem too bothered by it."

Though, friend or not, if someone called Chuck an abomination they'd probably get something thrown at them.
