Coyote Medicine, Tuesday 5/11

It was easier to not think about the Gremlin bitey of the day before when you kept yourself busy. So Oz was hard at work doing things that hadn't been done in awhile.

Like checking out all the back stock in the storage room. Ooh, Frank Frazetta type posters.

Coyote Medicine is open.

He was not wandering; wandering implied aimlessness. Jimmy was systematically walking through the streets of the town, trying to see what businesses were open and what empty buildings seemed to be a safe place.

Apothecary shop? He decided to investigate.

The guy from yesterday, the movie.

"This is a medicine shop?" opened Jimmy. "I've heard there is a clinic in town for medicine, and this as well," he said, asking a question with a statement.

"What kind of items?" he asked, browsing the shelves. He blinked at the posters.

Jimmy had some passing familiarity with some of the items, albeit under different names. "You make poultices here?" he asked.

Because this was better than, say, visiting the doctor at the clinic.

"Do you have any books, with drawings and sketches, of the herbs and such? I'm not from this world, but I'd like to see if there are some familiar plants by a different name here."

Stupid botanists and their stupid naming things across languages...

Jimmy spent about half an hour browsing through the books, marvelling at the beautiful sketches and paintings of herbs and plants. He picked three; he should be able to make what he needed using these as guides.

Midkemia and this planet were fairly similar.

"I'll take these," he said, holding them up.

"Just want to be prepared. I'm not sure how your medicines work on your world. These should work well, if the plants are the same."

Some things were not medications.

His grin did not quite reach all the way to his eyes. "I like having a plan or two. Never know what might happen."

"I might try that. Better than a chirurgeon, perhaps."

Never know.

"So how much for the three?" he asked. Ah, the lovely art of haggling.

James responded with a price that was significantly lower.

James countered with something in the middle. A Mocker (even a former one) loves a good deal.

That was acceptable. James pulled out his small pouch of gold to pay.

"I'm sure I'll be back around," he said with a grin.
