Caritas [Tuesday]

Robin was totally a creature of winter. All Canadians were, she was pretty sure. That was why she was able to go out in the middle of December in a t-shirt and a mini-skirt, eating an ice cream cone if she wanted to.

Summer, to put it succinctly, was not her thing. So it was a melty, cranky Robin who wove her way into the bar, immediately heading to get a glass of water. And then beer. So much beer.

"Whatta ya at, mainland?" Jake greeted as he strolled into the bar.

"Hot," Robin whined succinctly, pouting. "Why aren't you melting?"

~~Because the player's *other* character is the one made of ice omg~~ "Hotel's got air conditioning," Jake shrugged. "I been taking advantage of that. But I wouldn't say no to a tall cold glass of whatever's on tap," he added.

Robin, in the most lazy and sad way possible, moved to pull him a beer. "If it's like this up north next month, I'm pulling a bridezilla and changing my venue at the last second. To like, Antarctica."

Jake did not laugh. Barely, but he didn't actually laugh. "Isn't your Mountie from the Territories? Bet he wouldn't object too much to that," Jake pointed out with a smirk.

"Yeah. He loved it when the island moved there a couple years ago," she replied, rolling her eyes. "Not my favorite, but at least more bearable than this."

"The island mov- you know, that doesn't even surprise me anymore," Jake shook his head.

"Antarctica, France, Madagascar, Greece," Robin ticked off on her fingers. "Somewhere tropical -- Tortuga? It moved around for a summer. It was kinda nice, actually."

"A cruise without the boat," Jake noted. "And now I feel right disappointed that all I've got is turned into things."

"You got to be a puppy! That's fun!" she said, trying. "Something fun'll happen for you. If nothing else, you get to travel by portal in a month or so."

"Fair enough," Jake noted. "I'll dig out the parka just in case."

"Please. We're Canadian. You really think you'll need a parka?" she asked, tsking.

"I'm from St. John's," Jake retorted. "Our winters ain't as cold as your mainland ones."

Omg once again I am RIDIC tired. I blame the fact that I'm sitting in a math class.

Speaking as a real live Canadian: I absolutely agree with Robin.

I would like winter again, plz. If you're cold, you can put on another layer! It is harder to get away from the heat of summer!

As a Michigander, I think I'm sort of like Canadian Lite: I would so much rather have to deal with winter, when allll you have to do is bundle. In summer, I want to go live in my fridge -- and yet, as teeny as I am, that's still not an option. :(

We used to have this giant freezer in our basement that we'd stuff full of blankets and then, when they were thoroughly very very cold, drag them out to cling to. *fails at summer forever*

I want to have, like, a fridge bubble. That I can live in and it follows me around. That'd be awesome!

Hahaha, and see, I am the opposite- a west coast Canadian. For the past three months we've all been whining about how friggin' cold of a summer it's been so far (yes, as far as we're concerned over here, summer starts in April) and now it's finally here yaaaaaaaaaaay.

You can have my central Canadian weather. We were hitting 43 degrees last week.

It was made of fail. I wanted to die.

...gross. I can't even comprehend anything beyond 35 (or below -10). Temperate rainforests for the win! \o/
