The Boards -- CASTING -- Sunday

Given the... diversity... of the auditions he had received on Wednesday, Genesis was in a fine mood as he picked idly through his scripts today. He smirked a bit, wondering at what reactions they would get upon seeing his chosen script for the play. Everything, of course, was already set up.

The people of Fandom were certainly enthusiastic, even if the majority of them had little skill to speak of. But some of them, some of them had potential.

And some of them just greatly amused him.

Which was its own value, push come to shove.

"Triela." Just that. "What is yours?"

"Acting." Or... something.

Okay. So she had no idea.

"I want to learn to be a better actor, yes." Triela already knew how to act.

Really!

"It's part of my job," she explained in a business-like tone.

"No. As a counter-terrorism operative." Which was, technically, what the Agency classified her as.

"On the island, or at the theater?" She wanted to make sure she answered the correct question.

"No." She might have gotten such orders of Alessandro knew about the theater. But he didn't, so she was on her own.

"I've read monologues before." Hilshire seemed to think that Shakespeare was great practice for English.

Triela took a moment to read over the monologue. Twice.

"This is ridiculous," she complained, her tone calm and business-like. "You seriously want me to do this one?"

"Amy is ridiculous," Triela complained. But, well... whatever.

She read over the monologue twice more, committing it to memory, and handed Genesis the script back. She might have been showing off a little bit with that.

After a deep breath, Triela shrugged out of her jacket, imagined Hilshire tried to bench her the way Marco had benched Angelica, and began pacing tensely back and forth.

"Don't you dare walk away from me!" Triela began. And it turned out she could do righteous indignation quite convincingly. The lines may have been a bit wooden, but not too wooden.

Of course the parts where she had to talk about emotions, or about being human, well... those weren't so convincing.

She couldn't be perfect at everything, after all.

"... And you will regret it always."

Triela blinked as she came to a sudden stop. Why was she thinking about Leto?

Yes. It was, wasn't it?

"Maybe. Or maybe it's because her emotions are ridiculous. What is she so upset about?"
