Pizza Planet [Thursday Evening]

William had, thankfully, managed to catch some sleep after Ethics class this morning. So while he certainly was no competition for any of the island's squirrels in the bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed department, he was confident that he'd be able to give Miss Blythe- Rilla- now that they were attending an unchaperoned outing together, he wondered if it would be appropriate to be on a first-name basis- his full attention over dinner.

Which, speaking of, was sure to prove an adventure in its own. William had absolutely no idea what a pizza was, except that it was apparently Italian food.

[ooc: Expecting a certain fellow Canadian, but if you have any pizza-y or planet-y needs, it's open.]

Rilla--who had received no help at all from the very polite talking unicorn who'd showed up and told her how pretty each of her nine outfits she'd tried on were--was running just a little bit behind.

She was not best pleased with the weather, which certainly was doing its best to make sure all of her efforts to her hair were for naught.

"Good evening, Mr. Murdoch," she said, smiling and squelching her way across the restaurant to join him. "It smells divine in here."

"I wish I could say I wasn't used to such weather, but that wouldn't be true," Rilla said with a smile, holding out her hand. "Instead I will lament how terribly unattractive rubber boots are."

Rilla blushed, finding her hands suddenly fascinating. "Thank you," she murmured. "You look quite--" tired, actually, hmmm, "--dashing tonight."

"I have!" she said, pleased to be able to show off her knowledge. "A very lovely lady from the West works at the diner in town and she served me the loveliest noodle dish with a gremolata."

Which wasn't pronounced how Rilla just said, but details.

"But she's from the future," Rilla said, nodding. "Or now, something like that. Tenses get ever so confusing around here."

Rilla smiled at him, enchanted by his enthusiasm. "So should we just blindly point at things on the menu and hope for the best?" she asked.

"Like when?" Rilla replied, tilting her head and wondering what a "pepperoni" was.

"You're a scientist?" Rilla asked, smiling. "What field? My friend Carl from home is ever so interested in bugs."

"Like how aeroplanes and automobiles work?" Rilla replied, scrunching up her forehead.

"Did you figure out how it works?" Rilla asked eagerly.

She beamed at him. "Good! Will you examine it again?"

"So that is why your names were announced so loudly," Rilla said, looking a bit relieved. "You were in trouble."

And not, say, dating or something. Not that she's thought that. At all. Really.
