Faith was doing her very very very, very best not to drive a stake through the unicorn's head. Or even better , get a hold of that pretty horn it had and-

Her very best efforts, surely.

"Just shut up and lemme finish this sh-thing." Not that she had a thing against the word, but she hadn't worked in a the stupid clock for so long to now call it shit. She had put hours of abnegated effort there, people! And she knew she was closer to make it tick than when she started. Hopefully.

"You are so dedicated!", said the unicorn as it leaned a bit towards the clock.

"You will back off if you wish to keep that horn attached to your head", grumbled the Slayer.

"And so fierce!", exclaimed the unicorn, at the same time it took a couple of steps away from Faith.

"And try not to break anything." Or she would make it pay in fur. Or meat.

"And so caring!" Faith would have sworn the unicorn's voice sounded a little shaky. Good.

Tara had a stack of books beside her at the counter as she looked into Ino's question about cursed numbers. It was slow going; so far, she kept finding things about triskaidekaphobia, general numerology, and an ancient Egyptian ritual that involved using mathematics to cast out bad luck. Neither of which sounded quite right for what Ino was talking about.

Then she switched over to her computer. The Internet knew about cursed telephone numbers, which seemed marginally more relevant in a weird way.

She might be poking around for a while.

[OOC: OCD is bad at math, so it stayed home.]

Lindsay gave up on the football displays last week. This week, there was a hockey set up instead. Preseason was a good enough excuse. Besides, the Red Wings seemed to be more exciting than the Lions at present. It was the opposite back home. That was just so weird to think about.

Even weirder was the unicorn standing by the display. "You are smart and creative!"

Lindsay blinked. "What?"

"You are so talented. You set up the best displays!"

"Um." So eloquent.

She hoped it was gone by tomorrow, because she did not want to have to explain this to her parents.

Christian was in a glorious mood despite the persistent rain outside. The rehearsal yesterday had gone much better than he'd expected after Squall confronted him.

Besides, who wouldn't be in a good mood with a white unicorn clip-clopping after you to compliment everything you did? It made Christian want to sing!

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out

The unicorn stomped its hooves and shouted "Encore! Encore!"

What could Christian do but oblige?

[OOC: OCD got waylaid by a unicorn, who is convincing it that it's absolutely fabulous.]

Cally was half an hour late today.

Cally was half an hour late because she wasted ten of those minutes trying to reason with a Saint Bernard, fifteen of them trying to physically overpower a Saint Bernard, and five... well, the last five weren't really her fault. Those were precious squirrel-barking-at minutes.

Cally and a Saint Bernard were behind the counter today.

[OOC: And on massive SP due to Cally (but not the Saint Bernard) buying a house today. It's been a month; I believe I get to say LOL stealth without being pointed and laughed at now, you. :-P]

There were unicorns. At The Gig. Mingling with the horses and following Helen around and telling her all sorts of complimentary things. About her hair and her outfit and all number of things that Helen wasn't really sure how to respond to.

And for some reason, the corral was full of rainbows.

Ellie helped prepare the hotel for Parents Weekend by making sure extra towels were ready. She also took care of a few last minute reservations. She wasn't at all envious of all the students who had parents showing up this weekend. At least that's what she told herself.

Her mood, oddly enough, matched the current weather.

Millie was here and much amused by the overly complimentary unicorn. Proudfoot didn't seem to mind it - as long as it didn't interfere with her dozing.

William had, thankfully, managed to catch some sleep after Ethics class this morning. So while he certainly was no competition for any of the island's squirrels in the bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed department, he was confident that he'd be able to give Miss Blythe- Rilla- now that they were attending an unchaperoned outing together, he wondered if it would be appropriate to be on a first-name basis- his full attention over dinner.

Which, speaking of, was sure to prove an adventure in its own. William had absolutely no idea what a pizza was, except that it was apparently Italian food.

[ooc: Expecting a certain fellow Canadian, but if you have any pizza-y or planet-y needs, it's open.]

Yup. Another Thursday. George thumped into work still half-asleep. There would be coffee at the store. One of the few good things she could say about it.

"NEIGH! You have a good work ethic!"

George jumped, managing to knock over one of the racks of Little Debbie snack cakes. "Who the fuck are you?"

Because there was a unicorn just standing in the store, like this was normal or something.

"NEIGH! You are honest! People like that about you!"

"No, they really don't," she said, staring back at the .... yeah. That was a unicorn. A talking unicorn.

"NEIGH! You are a good person."

Great, she was being mocked by a figment of her imagination. "Get out of my store," she insisted, pointing at the door. "Right now. Or I'll ... I'll ... I'll make you into Squishies."

The unicorn sighed and nuzzled the side of her face against George's sleeve. It was like the damn thing knew she was bluffing.

And could it maybe watch the horn, there? Just what she needed, today. To be skewered by an overly-affectionate unicorn.

Today was awesome!! Today was her first regular day working at the store!! She'd been here Sunday, sure, but that was just to have the grand re-opening (even though it wasn't ever closed) and Thursdays, those were going to be her days.

So Rikku bounced into the store, still admiring the sign -- because the sign was awesome, that was why!!! -- and stopped short, because there were ... horse-things? In her store?

"NEIGH! You wear such bright colors!"

Oh! They were nice horse-things? "... Thank you?" she said.

"NEIGH! You're a supportive friend."

Awww! These were the best horse-things ever! That's why she was hugging one of them.

Fixer-Uppers was open. And could possibly give you sugar shock.

Jane was still sending texts.

Actually, she was drinking her mocha and sending texts, grinning a little too much and making good use of all those free texts and money she had put on the thing. She hadn't noticed how little she had used the cell until now. After the initial shock of knowing that John would be coming...well, there had come a number of other shocks as well, but she at least had something to look after for the weekend. She hadn't really had the chance to show off her husband for a good while, and she was going to enjoy herself now.

"Oh, you didn't", said between chuckles as she put the cellphone down for a moment, taking a deep breath. For her to be losing her cool so easily...
