Jake had not unexpectedly changed genders yesterday, nor had he listened to the radio, so he had no idea that anything was amiss. Mostly, he was just glad to be back in Fandom, and not stealing a dead guy's safe, or dealing with wanna-be rappers/juvenile delinquents (what kind of name was Wiggs Dinner, anyway?), or mixing up pretend drugs in his kitchen to hand over to creepy Russian drug dealers.

Anyway, he was updating Tino on his vacation exploits today. Tino... didn't really care.

She pulled up a bar stool, tilting her head. "Beer. Something good from up north." Hey, she still looked a lot like herself, but not enough that it should be obvious. Particularly if he didn't know.

"Up north is kinda big, b'y," Jake raised an eyebrow. That was definitely a (mainland) Canadian accent, that much he could tell.

With John hiding from him since they'd come back, Sherlock was left with very little to distract himself with. Because the laptop was also hidden with John.

So, that would be how he ended up at a bar. Maybe he could get a tissue sample of the zombies here...

"Water at the bar, b'y?" Jake arched an eyebrow at her. No, he didn't know that the woman in front of him was usually a man. He just called everyone b'y at some point or another. "I suppose I could just this once."

True to her promise, Quinn was at the bar the nanosecond she got out of work. She ordered a light beer from Tino and sipped it with relief.

Drinking always helped her body image issues. Being a boy was one huge body image issue.

Karla also stomped in after work. "What are you drinking?" she demanded. "I owe you, like, four."

Now, Karla. Not everyone has your metabolism. Though, they don't really need it if they're drinking light beer.

Hey, Quinn was normally a wine cooler chick; light beer was a step up.

"Bud Light and you do," she whined. "I was stuck at work all day like this. And the hotel specials board was, like, designed to humiliate me. It was fish tacos and corn dogs."

"Thank you," Karla replied, trying to sound gracious and not disgruntled at the strange female. She paused and eyed Sherlock, trying to decipher who he--or she--usually was. No luck; the psychic scent wasn't familiar at all. "You're not usually female," she said.

"All right," by now, Jake had been clued in to the nature of the island's latest little joke, so he figured this was another guy who was supposed to be a girl. He mixed up something pink and frothy, tossing in the requested extra cherries as well. And sure, the umbrella bit was already taken care of, but there was no such thing as too many little paper drink umbrellas, so she got another one. "There ye are, luh."

Jake got a smile for the extra umbrella as well. "Thanks," Karla said, and sucked about half of it down at a go. Being a male meant her metabolism was revved up even higher. A most unsatisfactory turn of events while trying to get one's drink on. "I'll be wanting another, please," she added. "Though I can transfer the umbrellas."
