Groovy Tunes, Tuesday
It had taken him all of a semester of juggling his work schedule and his class schedule, but it had finally occurred to Jonothon that, considering he was both the manager of the Groovy Tunes and their only employee at the moment, he could bloody well set his schedule as he saw fit. And that was why, as soon as he walked into the shop today, he made his way straight to the schedule, scribbled out all of his future Tuesday shifts, and set them for Monday.
It made sense, really, considering he didn't have anything on Mondays at all. Why should he lose hours (and precious time listening to new music) for the sake of class when he had so much free time otherwise?
That accomplished, he pulled out his stash of Pearl Jam CDs, stuck whatever was on the top into the stereo, and stuck a Help Wanted sign in the window before setting about to unloading and putting out new stock.
[Groovy Tunes is open and OCD freeeeeee!]

Once she spotted Jono, Charlie came to an stop. Was she actually going to do this, the old fashioned way? No mental tweaking? Too dangerous repeated herself as she came closer. And really, how hard could it be?
"So...hello there."

Then again, if she was a student here, she'd have to get used to things stranger than him, he supposed.
//Hello there, luv. Can I help you with anything?//
[OOC: You actually caught me at 30 minutes to midnight- Mind if we play this thread out tomorrow?]

//I'm actually wondering who do you need to bribe to...to...waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaitaminute.//
Her face turned into an unmistakable 'Oh snap' shade of pale as she realized what she had just done. Taking a step back, she suddenly looked like she was about to either run away, or start screaming. Instead, she spoke with a somewhat shaky voice. "What the fuck was that?"

//... Yer asking me? Right after standing there and answering th'same way? Honestly, luv, you'd think you'd never met another telepath before.//
He actually made a point to accompany this with a small roll of his eyes. Not because he actually thought any less of her, but to show how not a big deal this conversation was.
Since coming to Fandom Island, Jono had been given reason time and again to wonder if perhaps the telepaths actually outnumbered the normals.

She ignored the eye roll. She sort of deserved it for not keeping her shit together. "Can't you, I don't know, speak normally? I just answer without thinking and it's driving me crazy."

The slightly irritated tap of his toe against the floor...? Ignore that. Jono was just cranky at the best of times, really.

"Dude", said as she looked up again. "That would be so cool if it weren't the real deal."

"I need a job." Best change of theme she could think off, really. "I'm broke, lost, alone, and did I mention broke? I can be a really insufferable bitch, believe me, not to mention I can do so many creepy things I'm not entirely sure I should be up and walking and...living." She hadn't considered she might stray into some more personal issues. "But I'm one hell of a dedicated worker, and I can work with people." Sometimes, like once a week.
And if everything failed, she would retort to give him the best kicked puppy eyes she had. And she had grown to be rather good at it.

//Don't go pissing off th'customers, then,// he replied, his tone still a little flat. //None of this 'insufferable bitch' nonsense. But you've got yer pick of any day of th'week, if you want a shift that badly. I would've given it to you even without th'touching life story, gel.//

"And you won't see nothing but a perfectly charming young lady, Boss." Her glee, it might had been a bit of an act, but obtaining a job without needed to tweak minds -and she had no intention to ever try that with Jono- was a great success in her books.
"Um, were would I get paid? I did mention broke, didn't I? Not that I'm demanding anything."

So, bi-weekly.

She had probably spent all her luck anyway.
"Friday it is, then. I'm Charlie, by the by. Charlie McGee." She was the only person to ask for the payment before introducing herself.

He would have to be very, very sad if he came in on Monday to ashes and melted cassettes.

The smirk on her face might be misleading, but Charlie, who knew she could blow the store without that much effort, had no intention on losing her job on the first day. "I'll make my best effort!", replied as she saluted.
