The Causeway | Morning | Sunday | February 20

It was just about time to depart for the annual Fandom High Spring Break trip. Portals had been called, arrangements had been made and now all the group had to do was wait for the scheduled portals to appear.

The causeway was a mess of students and adults, carrying bags and talking excitedly about whatever plans the might have for the upcoming week. It was chilly in Fandom but the group was about to head to the sunny shores of Hawaii. Hope you packed your sunscreen!

That was an excellent way to get a weird look from one of his students. "Wow, Professor Lee, you... seriously fail at sounding teacherly, don't you?"

And Kate failed at respect. None of these things should really have been surprising.

"Are there any classes this week? No? Then I don't need to sound teacherly," Lucas said. That was a man who would have a long career in teaching, clearly.

"Yeah but aren't you coming along as a teacher?" she wondered. "Shouldn't that, I don't know, kinda mean you should set a good example?"

Sure, Kate. Expect the evil dude who throws his stuntmen out the window during class to be a good example.

"You're weird." Which was pointless to say because it was obvious and not too rare at this particular school, and also-- "Saying that isn't gonna affect my grade, is it?"

"Nah, it couldn't get any worse than it already is," Lucas said.

Actually, he didn't know that. He didn't really follow grades or anything. But he was evil and that was a mean thing to say, so he was sticking with it.

Kate looked unimpressed at that. Did the grades from this school even really matter anyway, with the crazy classes and everything?

Still, she was going to pad away now, because she didn't need to make herself into any further kind of target for evil. "Okay so, have a nice holiday, Professor Lee. Or... something.
