Mystery Sign Theatre, Wednesday
Kate had totally brought her laptop to work with her today. She'd put it away if anyone told her to, but until then, she'd be doing research for her Paranormal Activity presentation, and fucking around on Tumblr. Not necessarily in that order.
Don't judge. She was trying hard not to have a mild panic attack over the coming weekend. She wasn't even sure what was making her so nervous about it, but she knew the jumpiness was there, and it needed to be ignored. To help with that, she occasionally snuck into the theater as well, as was her way. It was a light movie today.
TODAY'S SHOWING:
Star-Crossed Garden Ornaments
No one needed any heavy drama in the week leading to Parents Weekend. Or more Justin Bieber, ugh. MST3000 was open!

Manager's Office [Mar 9]
Re: Manager's Office [Mar 9]
Mostly because he was spending most of the day on the phone with a certain group of Bristol vampires. "No, no," he groaned at the phone, "You paint the southern wall white. What? No, we don't want it looking 'all spooky and foreboding', what the hell have you been reading-- Dusk? Jesus christ--"
Re: Manager's Office [Mar 9]
And somehow that led to wanting opinions on her coffee break. So out from behind the concessions stand she was, laptop open and cradled on one arm, her eyes still on the screen even as she made it in the office. "Hey, would a white sofa be just asking for trouble? I mean, it's-- Oh."
She wasn't quite oblivious enough not to notice he was on the phone. She was, however, just self-centered enough to frown at him like she was mildly offended by it.

She said nothing but was still looking a little expectant.

Click.
He ran one harried hand through his hair, then blinked up at Kate. "...Yeah?"

"Yeah well, they're our chances," she pointed out. "To take, or squander, or whatever."

And look how good she was being with not just blurting out that future flat was not in the very distant future.

"A week and a half ago, I seriously wasn't sure I would stay alive until graduation," she replied bluntly, looking unimpressed. "Excuse me if the economy is not at the forefront of my mind."

Which may have been the first time she'd explicitly termed him 'family' out loud. It figured she'd say it while showing off her standard defiance of anyone deciding things for her.
