They looked an awful lot like raspberries, but they were the size of strawberries. William wasn't foolish enough to see what they tasted like, though.

Instead he was just going to ignore them even as it seemed as though the fruit was doing its level best to distract him from his research into laptop models. Ascribing intent to inanimate objects was foolish, he knew, but it was hard not to after the third time a stra- rasp- strasberry splattered the back of his head.

He was just going to spend the rest of the day wearing his hat, indoors or not. Hrmph.

Despite the fact that she tended bar Fridays at Caritas and was a vampire anyway, Eric was being stubborn about those under 21 touching alcohol on the premises, so Jessica was manning the door at the Devil's Nest. (And she totally hadn't sulked about that for a week.)

"Hostess" sounded better than "bartender" anyway, right?

Kate had totally brought her laptop to work with her today. She'd put it away if anyone told her to, but until then, she'd be doing research for her Paranormal Activity presentation, and fucking around on Tumblr. Not necessarily in that order.

Don't judge. She was trying hard not to have a mild panic attack over the coming weekend. She wasn't even sure what was making her so nervous about it, but she knew the jumpiness was there, and it needed to be ignored. To help with that, she occasionally snuck into the theater as well, as was her way. It was a light movie today.

TODAY'S SHOWING:
Star-Crossed Garden Ornaments

No one needed any heavy drama in the week leading to Parents Weekend. Or more Justin Bieber, ugh. MST3000 was open!

Lindsay was doing a bit of thinking today as the sounds of the Police filtered through the store. Her parents had already informed her that they wouldn't be able to make it this time for Parents Weekend. She wasn't upset or anything. She got to see her parents often enough.

They told her they couldn't be here because of some issues with her dad's sporting goods store. They told her not to worry, but she was going to at least be a little concerned. She knew the store had to compete with a mall now.

Maybe she would go home this weekend and help out. Or not. She hadn't quite made a decision. For now, she would wait behind the counter for potential customers.

Lion-o wasn't entirely sure why the guys in the kitchen kept asking him if he had tiger blood. He didn't want to know they kept laughing each time someone asked, but he suspected it had something to do with the funny poster that the bus boy put up on the bulletin board. Maybe he should be paying more attention to pop culture...

Today's Specials
Italian Pepper and Egg Sandwich
Orzo Salad with Celery, Radishes and Dill
Mixed-Berry Oatmeal Crisps

Feeling an awful lot like he'd been slacking when it came to his job lately (the threat of death was a wonderful motivator, it turned out, and without it, well...), Alexander planned to make it up by cleaning extra well at the shop today. He was good at cleaning old things, anyway, and it was easy to fall into a familiar rhythm.

Until...

"Ah!" Alexander nearly dropped his duster when he saw that cat statue peeking out from a collection of dressers. He quickly diverted his attention to some books, and then...

"Zounds!" Maybe over by the clothing....

"Egads!"

Alexander...was going to save the cleaning for another day, yes. Until then, he supposed he would just stay safely behind the counter and hope there weren't more terrible cat statues somewhere else, waiting. Watching.

Things Reborn is open!

Nathan was bored tonight. Usually, he could find something to do to entertain himself (usually by mocking Tino) but tonight he was just coming up empty. Tino suggested he actually do work and for that, Tino got ordered to muck out the toilets with a sponge.

With that distraction gone, Nathan pulled out his phone and went back to trying to set a new Tetris high score. It was an exhilarating night at the bar.
