Town Hall, Sunday Morning

"Thank you for coming here at such short notice," Cable began. He had called everyone here by ways of radio broadcast, and now he was standing upright and at the front. He looked about ready to kill something with his bare hands. "Let's keep this short. We've been in the middle of an invasion since this Friday. Now our children have been kidnapped. We won't stand for this."

He had a big gun strapped to his back that said he really wasn't standing for it.

"We've learned of some potential entrances to the castle, where we suspect the children are held," he continued. "Volunteers will be sent out to test the entrances and get our kids back. Any questions?"

Hey, he'd said he was keeping it short.

[[ wait for the ocd up! ]]

Jono had been about ready to make his way to the library for his shift when he'd heard the broadcast, heard the fact that those things outside had taken to kidnapping children, and had pulled a complete about-face in order to head to Town Hall, instead.

He'd been doing an admirable job staying out of trouble this weekend. And now he was quite willing to go out looking for it, instead.

Bobby was... well, to the casual observer, Bobby was not here. There was, however, a teenager who seemed to be made of ice who was hanging around. Kidnapping, especially the kidnapping of kids, was just Not On, and so Iceman was making one of his actually not-so-rare as they were becoming more frequent appearances.

"Ice man." No playing with names when citizens were in danger. "Nice to see you again. And to maybe be working together again? It would be nice to work with someone I already know and trust."

Very few people had seen Anakin looking this angry and lived to tell others about it. When he walked into the room you could almost hear kettle drums.

...weird.

He sat in the back and tried not to make eye contact with anyone. Small talk was not going to be his thing today.

Bruce showed up after hearing the emergency broadcast. If there were people in trouble, he was going to lend a hand. If it was children? He was ready for war.

What better way to earn the trust he so rightly didn't deserve than to come on a rescue mission? Captain Hook, usually not the biggest fan of small children, arrived fully dressed and fully armed, ready to help out in whatever way was called for.

Blossom had heard the emergency broadcast and decided the rest of the island could take care of the monsters: she had to at least see what she could do to help the children. She was totally in the crowd, trying to hear what was happening.

Jaina was surprisingly calm for a former frequent kidnapping victim whose tiny aunt had been taken from her apartment, if impatient to get moving. This was one of those times when flipping out wouldn't solve anything, so it was best just to put all her worry and anger into finding the kids.

And hopefully to do it before Anakin tried to bite anyone's head off or something. She was sort of waiting for that.

There was pretty much nothing like hearing about kids in danger that would get Stephanie's hackles up quite as fast, and without Cass or Tim or Babs or Bruce to hold her back, well . . .

Robin (the girl one who happened to be a ball of taut, impatient energy at the moment) was standing near a wall near the front, her mask doing nothing to hide the anger on her face.

Blossom approached, floating a few feet above the ground. Robin did not look like she was going to last very long without erupting. Blossom totally recognized that look from years on the same team with Kaoru. "You going to be okay?"

Summer, after hearing the broadcast, made her way over to the town hall. She was always up for helping in a crisis, especially when people were being put in harm's way. And when those in trouble were children? There was nothing that could keep Summer away.

George had enjoyed going coin-hunting yesterday, but as far as the stupid turtle things went, those she planned to ignore as much as possible. So no, she hadn't been out fighting things yesterday. Fuck that.

... but there were little kids missing and okay, maybe she didn't like the idea of little kids being missing. Okay? She didn't care about jack fucking shit but little kids were missing and somehow, in her mind, they all looked like five-year-old Kirsty, sitting on the train with her frog.

For this kind of meeting, Bruce didn't stick to the edges. As soon as Cable was done talking, he was ready for a group.

She usually left the strategizing to other people these days, but back when she'd first hit the streets as Spoiler she'd been completely on her own. Maybe she'd better get back into the habit now.

The second it looked like the mayor wasn't expecting their attention any more, Robin was looking for people to join up with, or maybe haul in to help.

If "twitchy" equaled "pissed the hell off and ready to shoot" then yes, Zoe was looking rather twitchy. She might not bite off anyone's head here, but she certainly wasn't in a pleasant mood either.

Deadpool was twitchy in that way that may end with someone getting stabbed in the eye. But that might be normal for him. Who knew?
