Caritas- Saturday
Jaina hadn't had any reason to notice anything was different for a while. It wasn't till she went in to work and found the zombie band had ceased to actually play their instruments tonight, unless hitting play on an endless loop of a Kids Bop CD counted. Normally that'd be strange enough, but when she started to ask what was going on, she looked behind the bar and saw... who she was pretty sure was Tino, all of about five years old, sipping on juice. And yes, Jaina swiped the glass from him just long enough to make sure that it was juice. In fact, all the alcohol had turned into kid-friendly drinks.
So, it was going to be one of those weekends, apparently. Jaina was torn between being glad she was herself, being disappointed she wasn't nine (hush, being a kid was fun) and wondering if Fandom wasn't piling on the weird this month just because it knew she was leaving.
[I am home and I wanna play with kiddies!]

Yes, they were playing the CD player wrong. Look, he didn't make the rules.
Bar
Re: Bar
Ender had been hiking up the island to get a good feel for it, and the bar happened to be the last place he'd wound up.

On the other hand, she was Ben's cousin. "But I won't be in your hair for too long."
He might've been seven, but he was still Ender.

(Sadly, he would be doing - and ordering - the same thing in bars well into his forties. Weirdo.)
"But if I want to get in any practice tomorrow, I can't head home too late."

He sipped his milk again.

Wesley had mostly slept, but she was okay with that, 'cause she'd gotten to see rabbits and funny-colored deer and if her father had been here he would have shot them and they would have eaten them and it would have been yummy and fun. But since she was here by herself, she was just happy to chase rabbits and squirrels all day.
She clambered up onto a barstool, peering at Jaina. "I'm thirsty. Do you have goat's milk, please?" she asked carefully.

He didn't say a word as he tried to climb up onto a stool. Being four was hard work sometimes.

If there was ever a day to avoid kids demanding Rugrats stamps? This was it.
K settled down in the back room and considered changing the channel until that Miley Cyrus kid appeared on the TV.
Amazing how many aliens got jobs in entertainment.
K blamed Speilberg.
