The Beach, Sunday Afternoon
There was a cranky pony on the beach this afternoon.
There was a cranky pony on fire on the beach this afternoon.
Since first becoming a student at the school, Jono had been able to boast a wonderful track record of never turning into an animal. Ever. Other people, sure. But an animal? Nope. And then, today, after coming to the island to get away from his recent X-stalkers and the madness of the headlines, he'd woken up to this.
Not one to be deterred too much by the simple fact that he had no means of so much as wrapping himself up, he'd made his way out of his hotel room (after a battle with the doorknob that involved standing on his kind legs and wrestling it around with his front hooves) and to a place where he figured he wouldn't get too much negative attention. Sitting on the shore, listening to the waves... that was relaxing, at least.
And maybe making sandcastles, too. Just because.
[I couldn't resist. Open beach is open!]

"OH MY GOD! You're on fire!"

An odd gesture, on a horse.
//No, I'm not. It's a mirage. I'm not telepathic, either. Yer imagining things.//
Screwing with what he could only assume was a new kid was fun, at least.

BECAUSE HE WAS A PONY.
"Wheeeeeeeee! Wheeeee! Wheeeeeeeeee!"

It had to be in italics like that. That was about the only way to put it.
//Here is where I say something to you, asking you very dryly if yer enjoying yerself, and then I get completely ignored because you can't hear me,// Jono noted, his head bobbing a little as he watched the frolicking.

These two things were clearly unrelated. Also unrelated? Any jokes and snickering made by Deadpool about Karla's boyfriend this morning over the radio.
Laaaa.

She trotted happily through town, eventually ending up at the beach for no particular reason. And then she blinked at Jono a lot.
"Are we all going to be ponies on fire next?"
She wasn't sure she could handle that.
no subject
As was possibly obvious.
no subject
She would have said no offense but she didn't really care if she offended him. "I'm Quinn."

"Kiss kiss!" Even as a pony, Karla had standards to uphold.

Quinn looked at the red and black pony for a moment, then: "Oh my god, you're the vice principal."

That was Karla for 'hello.'
"Good job taking my advice!" Just in time to become a pony, yay!

//I chose quite th'weekend for it,// Jono noted, glowering at his sand-lump and then swiping it to the side with one hoof. //Just in time to sit around looking like a small barnyard animal.//
no subject
Hers was better, obviously, but his was still cool. "Here, let me help you with it!"
The castle, not the ass-stamp. Honestly, Jono, keep up.
Karla's horn glowed with light as the sand righted itself, turning into an elaborate sand-palace, complete with sand-battlements, sand-turrets, and even sand-pennants. She sat back on her haunches, looking very proud of herself.

Frollicking happily until, naturally, she got distracted and had to stop with a (surely not old by now), "Whoa! You're on fire!"
no subject
//Yes, I do that,// Jono replied. And then kind of did a double-take. And then buried his face in one... uh... hoof. Even if the voice hadn't tipped him off on the identity of this particular pony, the hair was a dead giveaway. //Hello, Ariel.//
Oh, busted.
