Magic Box, Friday, 9/02
Okay. So Tara knew stuff at the shop would have changed while she took four months off. She just wasn't prepared for every single spell ingredient to be locked behind some kind of safety latch. The crystal display had changed too -- it was moved higher and with the crystals swaddled in bubble wrap. And while the candles were still where they always were, the lighters and matches sold with them were locked up and the few ceremonial weapons the shop carried were missing entirely.
Had there been an influx of evil sorcerers nobody had told her about? If there had been, it seemed as likely the sorcerers had put in the protective measures to flummox every witch on the island as it was that another employee had done this stuff to make the shop safer.
Tara went to find a stepladder in hopes of getting the Magic Box back into Wiccan-friendly conditions. Well, at least it wouldn't be a dull first day back...

Talk to Tara [9/02]
Re: Talk to Tara [9/02]
Kate peered at a few things, then turned her attention on Tara. "What's with all the bubble wrap?"
Re: Talk to Tara [9/02]
She sighed. "Um, the candles aren't wrapped. And the books. The books are fine."

She wandered over, trying to glance at the list.
Re: Talk to Tara [9/02]
"There are probably ways to break the locks," she considered. "But you might not like what that'd do to your cupboards."
Re: Talk to Tara [9/02]
Rosemary for loyalty, water lily for persuasion, knotweed to bind someone. Her first thought was a love spell, but they were all fairly common elements.
She glanced over to the cabinets, still thinking about it. "I can probably get them all without wrecking the shelves," she said. "Give me ... five minutes? And, um, sorry if I curse. It's kind of annoying."
Re: Talk to Tara [9/02]
"Magical, not Wiccan," Kate clarified. Religion had never really sat well with her, she didn't like the idea of putting her trust in gods and goddesses. If you picked the wrong one, things could go bad fast. "And you can swear as much as you like. I would have started already if I was you." And she wouldn't have apologized for it either.
"You are Wiccan?" she guessed after a moment. It was the sort of question that made you assume as much, at least.
Re: Talk to Tara [9/02]
She was reaching over her head to fight with the locks on the herbal cabinet -- with only a little swearing under her breath -- when she added; "By the way, I'm Tara. You're ... new? New-ish?"
Re: Talk to Tara [9/02]
"And more ish than new now," she replied. "Beginning of the summer."
