Community Center- Alumni Mixer- Friday night (after the debates)

The community center had been decorated both prettily and tastefully for tonight's alumni mixer, even if the music left a little to be desired. After all, sure, it was nice to have some good dancey music in there, but what was a mixer without some Bieber thrown in there? And the more Bieber the better, right? So those attending could look forward to one of those classics thrown in there every now and then. And possibly look forward to getting those classics stuck in their heads, whatever.

Look, at least the food was good, okay?

Kennedy hadn't been about to pass up a chance to come back and visit the island, not when the invitation was dropped in her lap.

Know one thing she did not regret about living in 2002? The Bieber.

Although mostly, she could ignore that in favor of being all dressed up, looking damn awesome, and being really, really glad to be back for a few days.

Jaina hadn't been entirely sure she'd been able to make it this time thanks to work, and had ended up getting to the island not long before the event started. She'd had time to make herself presentable, though, and got herself a drink just to have something to carry around while she looked around for people.

Did it matter that she'd only been here a few weeks ago? No, because it'd been three months for her. Stupid time difference.

Hermione hadn't exactly graduated from Fandom High (something which still bothered her, not that she was thinking about that), but when the alumni were invited back, she felt like she had to go. She might see people she'd known before. So she was here, and looking hopefully for familiar faces.

Yeah, right. Like Jono was going to turn up one of these things? Sure, there was some mess going on back home regarding so-called 'designer genes,' but he wasn't exactly allowed to get elbows-deep in that rubbish anyhow.

So he might as well be here, even if he was tucked away in a corner and looking uncomfortable in his wrappings, relaxing for a day or two.

Really, Jono should know better by now.

Any excuse to pull out a cute dress and mingle with old friends, even if it did involve trans-Atlantic portal travel for a weekend.

Angela hadn't even noticed the lack of caffeine or alcohol yet, and was apparently immune from irritation at the high levels of Bieber. The music selection could be so much worse, couldn't it?

This was not yet that day.

Anyhow, his flatmate had been driving him mad all week with high-volume replays of Britney Spears' ouevre.

Not that the music here seemed to be much better, but at least he had some hope the company would be. He got a glass of punch and wandered through the crowd, eyes open for anyone he hadn't seen in a while.

Oh look, it was a thirty-something year old Peter Bishop, awkwardly showing up to this thing. Not that he looked like he was awkward, or bothered, or anything other than smug. That's how Peter Bishop rolled.

Then he heard the music.

Kate had meant to show up on the island earlier in the day, and maybe surprise Bod at work, but then Charmaine had badgered her into an emergency cravings grocery run, and that plan had fallen through. So, she showed up straight at the mixer, having handwavily pestered Mitchell into letting her stay the weekend at 71 Serendipity on the way over.

And now? She could mingle to her heart's content. And maybe keep an eye out for this lauded lookalike of hers, along with her friends.

Yeah, Bobby was definitely up for anything that involved the chance to hang out with some of his recently-graduated friends. He'd even dressed up a little. Shut up.

And no, he didn't care that most of the people who'd arrived so far seemed to be those aforementioned recent graduates.

The more time Luke spent at home, the older he felt when he returned to Fandom, and that was only half because his time was moving so much faster than the island.

Zayne didn't have to go far to make it to the mixer. Walking from his building? Much easier than flying in a spaceship or talking a portal, as it turned out.

Yes, there were definite advantages to a stable home on a friendly planet.

Hannibal hadn't been sure about this at all. Things had gotten better for him and (thankfully) his fingers had healed up so he wouldn't be whining about them anymore but he still got twitchy around too many people.

Nevertheless, the invitation had come and he was there, looking cleaned up and focused. He looked like he wanted to be there even if he was nervous.

Chuck had shown up just establish he was there to the mixer late and not really knowing why he had shown up after spending all summer here, but glad to be back anyway. He was still using his cane but walking better than he had been when he left. Physical therapy was paying off, apparently.

Food & Drink

There are tables of moddable food and drinks to be had here. You should try some. They're yummy...

And yes the alcohol is still gone. But you will just have to deal.

Do you know what there was to do in Bristol when you were trying to avoid falling back into old habits? Fuck all. So when the invite filtered though to pay a visit, it was jumped on it.

Effy was still big on the shadowy corners. She hadn't changed that much. There was though, much less brooding in it, much less black, and she probably appeared a little more approachable despite her lack of cigarettes.
