The stupid weekend was thankfully in the rear view mirror and that was where it should stay in Nathan's opinion. He wasn't Nate and he wasn't...wearing some other bloke's ugly face. He was fine how he was and when he came into work, he badgered Tino into reassuring him.

Now, he was leaning against the counter and downing shots because that's what one did at a bar. Once he drained a shot glass, he slid it down the counter to where Tino was collecting the assortment and shaking his head.

Right, she couldn't stick around in Fandom too much longer; it had been fun, but she really probably should get going home soon. Like, tomorrow.

Which left her one more night to take advantage of Caritas's lack of a carding policy, and she was going to enjoy it, dammit. So after a quick patrol around the graveyard for old time's sake Kennedy stopped into the bar, ordered something tall and fruity from Tino, and settled in for a while.

Playing Fruit Ninja on her phone. God, she never should have discovered that game.

And once Jaina saw who else was here, she switched to alcohol, because no sane person could be expected to do this two days in a row sober. "So can we agree that this weekend never happened?"

Kennedy had just been about to beat her high score when she realized who was talking to her, and slashed at a flying bomb instead of a watermelon. Oops. Game over.

"Oh, hey." She set the phone aside and reached for her drink instead, half-smiling awkwardly. "Me totally not being me, and you acting way not at all like I remember, I think we can agree on that."

She fiddled with the umbrella in her drink.

"Not that it sucked or anything, just... we were all out of our minds, right? That was kind of not cool."

"It was the third time that's happened now," said Jaina, though this was the first time she ended up feeling like a cougar and that was Tahiri's role. "I think 'out of our minds' is a good way to put it."

"God, and I thought once was weird enough," she said after a long pull of her drink. "Guess I got off easy."

Choose your words a little more poorly there, Kennedy, why don't you?

"And thus, the bar." Kennedy waved a hand at the beer taps, vaguely. "Also, possibly, a subject change. Didn't realize you were sticking around for a while, too."

"It's become habit to stick around for a couple days, but I was supposed to leave this morning," Jaina frowned, sipping her drink. "My portal got pushed back all day and now it's tomorrow."

"Self destructive?" Nathan asked, looking up at her. "What about this is self destructive? I'm drinking. That's what bartenders do and even if bartenders don't do it, I do it."

Nathan gave her a look for that one and then downed another shot. "You been living under a fucking rock? I think everyone's turned to alcohol after this past weekend. Alcohol or fucking repression or a mixture of them both. People went insane, the insanity went insane and the booze came back to cure us all."

"Well, I didn't fucking die so I guess I got off easy when it comes to that," he replied, shrugging. "And I didn't get fucking married even if I attended a wedding that might have gone off. I don't know I was...busy elsewhere.

"You're like the one person who'd be fine to die anyway," Ramona pointed out logically, "and I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad you didn't get married. I'd be sad I wasn't invited." And jealous. So, so, so irrationally jealous.

"You'd be sad?" he repeated, raising an eyebrow. "Why, would you wanna sit in the back of the church and point and laugh and take pictures and text my mates back home so they never let me fucking live it down?"

Simon would keep his mouth shut but Kelly, Curtis and Alisha would have a fucking ball.

Jaina was supposed to be gone already, but her portal had gotten pushed back till tomorrow morning. Trying not to be too mad about all the extra time she was missing at home, she decided to get out for a while. Mainly because she probably shouldn't call Zekk to bitch again. Shn got herself a Coke and settled in for a while. Or till she got bored.
