William really should have known better by now. A number of uneventful workdays had lulled him in to a false sense of security, however, and so the first time his work was interrupted by a gust of wind (indoors! with the door closed!), he was caught completely off guard.

The second time, he went outside to check if somehow a windstorm had blown the door open. Nope.


By the third time, he'd put away the various bits and pieces he'd been tinkering with and settled for just looking up information on the internet. Which didn't seem to have a lot on indoor localised windstorms, strangely enough.

Stark Industries was open, if a bit windblown.

Of course Quinn had seen the new posters for Annie on her way to work. She was neither blind nor deaf. (Really? Embedded sound chips? Where did you even buy those?)

Mostly, this meant she spent her shift trying to figure out if they could be topped. It was an island full of geniuses, someone had to have perfected holograms. Or she could go for scratch-and-sniff posters that smelled like coffee, since it seemed to be most seniors' drug of choice. Or she had just enough time for a second round of cupcakes...

For now, Quinn would work with what she had. Mary still wasn't around, so she took the liberty of designating a special rate all of her own.

The stupid weekend was thankfully in the rear view mirror and that was where it should stay in Nathan's opinion. He wasn't Nate and he wasn't...wearing some other bloke's ugly face. He was fine how he was and when he came into work, he badgered Tino into reassuring him.

Now, he was leaning against the counter and downing shots because that's what one did at a bar. Once he drained a shot glass, he slid it down the counter to where Tino was collecting the assortment and shaking his head.

The store was only open-ish today, as the guy behind the counter kept falling asleep. Apu and the panda took turns wandering over to thwap Hank in the head and wake him up.

Jessica was still freaked out about the fact that she bit someone and killed him Sunday. She didn't know that all the random deaths over the course of the weekend hadn't stuck, so she was convinced someone was going to find his body (though she checked and he wasn't where she'd left him in the park) and she was going to get blamed and that stupid Scully girl would probably try to get her staked.

But there were other vampires in town, so maybe they couldn't prove it was her?

At any rate, the Devil's Nest was open, but Jessica was trying to keep out of sight.
