Parents' Weekend Meet & Greet, The Park, Friday Afternoon

The day had dawned crisp and clear, but by the time afternoon had rolled around... it was really still kind of ridiculously warm for fall. People could probably get away with not wearing a sweater, even.

Which made rather good weather for a picnic, convenient since that was the traditional way of kicking off the Fandom High Parents' (and assorted other relatives, friends, acquaintances, or sometimes even enemies, but that was harder to fit nicely on a banner) Weekend. So there were rows of picnic tables decked out in blue and yellow, laid out with just about any sort of foodstuff one could imagine. And just in case there was any lingering doubt as to the purpose of the picnic, a glittery banner (Petra's work, naturally) adorned the registration tables:

"Oh, no, you misunderstand me," Flemeth said, a smirk gracing her lips. "My question is genuine. Though I daresay if dragon blood does run in your veins, it has been thinned by frail men."

"I'm sure it has," Dany agreed. "My family is centuries old, and dragons have been gone for generations. Mine are barely but legend back home."

"Bah! Legend is where gods linger as they rest, no more and no less," she replied. "As your son demonstrates."

She reached one hand out towards Drogon, and only now the long claws on it became visible.

"His name is Drogon," Dany offered, as the tiny dragon eagerly flicked his forked tongue out toward those claws. Dany gave them a curious look. "Are you dragon, too, then?"

"Some legends would say so," Flemeth said. She watched Drogon's tongue moving, and was satisfied. "Of course, some legends maintain that I was spawned from the rock and devour children like yourself for my supper - which do you believe to be true?"

"I am no child, so I'm hardly concerned about either," Dany said, raising a brow. "But I prefer the former."

"Heh."

Flemeth lowered her claw. "Take good care of this one," she said. "Though mind yourself - when you play with dragons, the dragons shall come and play with you, and no matter the blood that might drip in your veins."

She regarded Dany herself. "You are a child," she said, "But I like you."

She hoped Morrigan had plenty of children like this to make her life... challenging.
