The Boards, Sunday - Auditions for the Winter Showcase!

Jonothon had managed to get his hands on coffee, this morning. Instant coffee, granted, that he'd thrown together while trying to juggle breakfast (cereal, quick and easy) and getting everything in order for ... whatever the hell these auditions were going to be like, considering the state of the weekend. He hadn't actually gotten around to getting any of it as far as his mouth, yet, but he suspected that he'd made the coffee strong enough to sit up and bark, and if that didn't floor him, it would probably be a good thing.

In the window of the Boards, he'd hung a sign:

AUDITIONS
FANDOM ISLAND WINTER SHOWCASE
Give the rest of the island a taste of your winter traditions from home!

And, hell, he'd even managed to get someone at Pizza Planet to answer the phone who was over the age of ten, so there was pizza set out on tables on one side of the lobby area. Tables which he'd laid tarp down under, because there was no way in hell he was going to clean those carpets already. The place had just finished renovations, after all.

[OCD is up! If you've got a small child for the day and you'd like to audition, anyone and everyone is welcome to, but please let us know in the OOC thread if you actually want a role or not!]

Marshall shook his head. "Nah, I played keyboards for a band at my old school," he explained. "Well, and kinda... headlined it. And managed it. Why d'you ask?"

He was versatile! All the skills, really.

Marshall totally met the basic requirement of 'not five'!

"... Yeah, I could do that," he agreed. "I'm a little out of practice sight-reading, but I'm sure I can muddle through it." Glancing around, Marshall added, "And maybe listening to some music will keep these kids a little more... ... calm?"

You go on thinking that, Marshall. You go on thinking that.

Marshall nodded. "Sure, yeah, that sounds fine," he said. "I... don't have any sheet music with me. Got anything in mind?"

"Uh, okay..." Marshall said, frowning a bit as he thought through what he could play from memory. "How about this?"

Sitting down at the keyboard, he began to play (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfvlY8nQVKA).

[Marshall's probably at about that level -- a few slightly-wrong notes, just like that video, but for the most part pretty decent.]

Marshall just grinned back. "Thanks. I'm a little out of practice... Anyway, it could be worse," he pointed out. "We could have been transformed into kids, too.

"I'll spend some time at the piano this week, get back into practice sight-reading, too."

Marshall nodded. "I'll be here," he said, settling back in at the piano to provide some mood music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AttkmMVtFno) between 'auditions'. "And hopefully everyone else'll be back to normal."
