Caritas, Monday

To be entirely honest, Jake had spent most of his life wishing he didn't have an older brother at one time or another. However, wishing it and calling home only to be met with concern regarding his mental state when inquiring after Christian's well-being were two entirely different things.

Jake was coping with this weird new development in the way he knew best: with rum. Lots of it.

Alcohol was always a healthy response when faced with people back home not remembered someone vital. Like how that fabulous mustachioed man Dugan had apparently been completely forgotten by the SSR.

Well, the rum bottle was already out, so... Jake poured himself another glass, and then grabbed another one for Howard. "There y'are, b'y," he said, sliding it over.

Damnit, Howard. Jake had been trying so hard to repress that weekend, excessive barrel rolls and all.
