The Boards, Thursday [Auditions!]
Thursday meant that the same sign was up on the door:
AUDITIONS
Petey Sci-Fi Talky Picture
January 8th and 12th, 2012
(That means today!)
Rehearsals Sundays and Thursdays
through March 22nd, inclusive.
Performance Friday, March 23rd!
Please be prepared to perform
both a song and a monologue.
Monologues and songs available
if you do not have your own.
(Songs and monologues do not
need to be from the show.)
Adults welcome!
Come one, come all, and audition for one of the best shows on Earth! Troy was just going to be over here, amused that he hadn't noticed any odd singing yesterday -- because it's not like it was odd for him to be singing.

Arrive/Mingle/Drink Tea
Re: Arrive/Mingle/Drink Tea
Re: Arrive/Mingle/Drink Tea
Looking way, way confident. And maybe a little like there should have been a wind machine blowing at her.
Re: Arrive/Mingle/Drink Tea
She wasn't really sure what she was auditioning for, but she'd told Jono she wanted to get more involved in the arts on the island, so here she was. Drinking tea, and psyching herself up mentally.
Re: Arrive/Mingle/Drink Tea
But she'd try, just to have something else to do. It wasn't like she didn't spend a lot of time dressed up as someone else to do strange things as it was.
So she'd arrived, and grabbed a cup of tea.
Re: Arrive/Mingle/Drink Tea
In the meantime, she scoped out her
competitionfuture supporting actors. And she was a rebel and sipped the espresso she'd brought herself instead of taking the tea they had available. Because she was just that cool.Re: Arrive/Mingle/Drink Tea
needed something to dowas a big fan of Petey Sci-Fi, and couldn't help but stop by to see how things were going. He got a cup of tea -- turning it down would just be rude! -- and settled in to watch.
Re: Arrive/Mingle/Drink Tea
So here she was sipping tea as she waited to audition.
Audition
[And as much as you can give us to work with, please! The more detail you provide, the better sense we have of your character's skill, talent, and range. :D ]

But her name was so not the point, here. "Now, I'm going to start with a song," she declared, which was exactly what she did. With a guitar and everything. "Yeah, she said 'Get outta my way cause I'm going somewhere, this is not where I wanna be' --"
It was
exactly like the video except she looked oldera bubbly, fun, energetic performance, and it was... so not something Natalie would've done without a little gremlin help.Re: Audition

Re: Audition
"Hello," she said faux-brightly. She was excellent at faking chipperness, okay. "I'm Rebecca Logan. My monologue is from Harboring Ill Intentions."
The classiest movie ever. Fo' sho.
Rebecca cleared her throat, and when she began her monologue, it was in a sugar-sweet voice, and she took a few purposeful steps toward the front of the stage. "Silly rabbit," she purred. "My triumph isn't over her. It's over you." She paused meaningfully, twirling a strand of hair around her finger in about as sexy a manner as she knew how. "You were," she said, "very much in love with her. And you're still in love with her. But it amused me to make you ashamed of it."
Rebecca paused to strut across the stage like she owned it, because that was what hot evil people did, okay.
"You gave up," she continued, "on the first person you ever loved -- because I threatened your reputation. Don't you get it? You're just a toy,
meta forSebastian. A little toy that I like to play with. And now you've completely blown it with her!" Rebecca tossed her hair and flashed a fake, but nonetheless winning, smile. It didn't look very different from her usual fake smile, actually. "I think," she pronounced, emphasizing each word for strong individual effect, "it's the saddest thing I've ever heard."Another strut across the stage, and then she mimed raising a glass. "Cheers," she said, and smiled.
And Jono and Troy could just be very, very grateful that she'd left out the dirty part of the monologue. Very. Grateful.

[Have the death, so I'm pinging in, but this will prolly be the only ping for tonight.

How that had led to him wandering in and auditioning? Well, he'd always had something of a dramatic side, okay?

"I'm Gabrielle," she introduced herself, and without preamble launched into a comedic monologue she'd written herself, a long, animated soliloquy about traveling to the moon on the back of a giant rabbit.

Billy and the Techs
For any of those who ping in!
Re: Billy and the Techs
...especially when it was entirely pretty girls. But don't tell Sam, she'd probably through a ham at his head.
Re: Billy and the Techs
now that the post would load, working on lists of things they'd need, and lists of lists. It was kind of brain breaking and kind of awesome at the same time.OOC
