Abandoned warehouse that is now totally the Real World House- Saturday

"I'm really here just trying to figure myself out, you know?" said Jaina's voiceover, playing over the sound of some Daughtry song as she arrived at the house with her bags. "I want to meet new people and find out who I really am. And maybe get famous from it."

She reached the door, with her name plastered in front of her in Comic Sans, and when she opened it and called, "Hello?" and got no answers, she thought that meant she was the first to arrive. Which meant she got to be the first and gasp, "Oh my god!" at the once-abandoned warehouse that had been tricked out to be a cool, trendy house for cool, trendy young people. And this meant she was going to get the first pick of rooms!

"I'm not here to make friends," Zayne's voiceover said as he walked into the house, looking like the damn anti-war modern hippie in stylish clothes that he was. "I'm here to make experiences. And also friends. As long as they oppose the war."


He didn't even know what war he was talking about.

Taking a look around, Zayne was overwhelmed by the product placement and sense of coolness of everything. "This is SO COOL," he said.

From where she had totally picked the coolest room in the house, Jaina heard another person and cried, "Someone's here!" before jumping up from her bed and rushing over.

"Hi!" Jaina greeted him. "I'm Jaina. I'm your housemate!"

Apparently Real World Jaina was really perky.

"Hi, I'm Zayne," Zayne said. "Are we the first ones here?"

"Hey." Guy with an umlaut gave Zayne a bro-nod, scoping out the competition here.

"Hi. I'm Zayne," Zayne said, nodding back. "Try not to let the crass commercialization inherent with everything in this house get you down. It's still pretty nice despite that."

"I'm here for the same reason as everyone else," Guy's voiceover said as he walked through the door to the house that was clearly designed for filming fights and sexcapades. "To find out who I am. Who I really am."

Maybe he was planning to come out in an epic mid-season finale? Or letting them know he was actually thirty and too old to be there, but they let him on the show to stir up drama.

"Think of the parties we can have here."

"Isn't it great?" Jaina asked, her perky exterior masking the fact that she had Serious Issues, Obviously. "Welcome to the house!"

"Cool," he said, sounding so ooooold. "I'm Guy. It's spelled with an umlaut."

No it wasn't, but the graphics people had to add that now.

Quinn's hot-bad-boy sensors were tingling.

Of course, she wouldn't do anything besides flirt, because she was all repressed and midwestern and saving herself for her future husband, or something. But: Hottie.

Even if he was probably, like, 30.

"We can have excellent parties," Quinn told him. "Hi, I'm Quinn. How'd you end up in the house?"

That just meant he could buy them all beer. And be creepy while they all partied with all that beer.

Possibly pull apart a cat-fight or five.

"Guy. With an umlaut," he said, too cool for all of this. "I drove my motorcycle."

Quinn's getting-from-the-airport-to-the-house montage was overlaid by the Dixie chicks version of "Landslide." the music faded out for her voiceover right about the third repetition of "I'm getting older, too."

"Growing up in small-town Ohio, I really didn't meet a lot of people from different backgrounds," she informed the audience. "But I'm ready to move past that. I can be a really tolerant person. I just hope everybody will be, you know, tolerant of me."

In the house, she plonked her new suitcase down by the couch. "Hi!" she called. "Where is everybody?"

"We're over here!" Jaina called, running out to meet the new housemate in the tricked-out living room with the furniture that may or may not have been actually functional. "Hi! I'm Jaina."

"Jaina!" Quinn beamed, reaching for a hug. "Hiii. My name's Quinn. I am so excited to meet people. This house is just amazing, wow."

"Hi!" Zayne said, hurrying over to introduce himself before Guy with an umlaut could taint the new roommate's mind with his war-mongering corporate horror-show opinions. "I'm Zayne. So nice to meet you."

Quinn's voiceover observed, "When I first saw Zayne, I thought he looked kind of like a hippie. We don't have a lot of those where I'm from."

To Zayne's face, she smiled. "It's really cool to meet you, too. I'm Quinn. From Ohio."

"I'm here to have fun," came the raspy voiceover for Sara's arrival. Yes, it was Sara without an H because somehow that was more exotic, like her Midlands English accent didn't give her enough distinctiveness. "Not to make amigos."

Likewise for the random, pretentious Spanish that was there to emphasize the fact that she was European, goddammit.

She surveyed the house with critical eye. "Where's the party?"

"Hi!" Jaina said, bouncing over all cute and naive. "Is this not the perfect party place? Hi, I'm Jaina, where are you from?"

"There's a hot tub on the roof," Quinn told her, a bit dubiously, and followed it with "... where are you from, anyhow?"

"Right over here," Guy with an umlaut called. Because he was that housemate. Oh, there would be a competition over who was the bad-ass one in the house here.

"When I first saw Sara, I wasn't sure about her," Guy's voiceover supplied as he nodded at her.

Hot Tub Party Omg

Once the people who'd arrived so far had shown up, it was time to really get things going. So the hot tub had been started up, and it was time for everyone to don their suits and get in for an evening of getting to know each other. Not dirty. Unless it was like that one time in Vegas where Stephen and Trishelle made out in the hot tub and Brynn was like "Omg we had a threesome!" when in reality they just made out on top of her without realizing she was there.

And winced a little, because the water really was hot.

Okay, so Sara might have managed to already have a little bit to drink before they even got to the hot tub part. A little bit.

"Now we're talking!" she exclaimed a little louder than strictly speaking necessary, as she was getting into tub. "Now it's more like a fiesta."

While everyone else was in the hot tub, Jaye and her NPC wandered through, still House Hunting.

"I like it," Jaye said in that voice that said she really, really didn't, "but it's a little... overdone? Does it come with the furniture? I think I'd sell it all and buy a couch that looks like a couch."
