The Boards, Thursday Evening (Petey Sci-Fi Rehearsal)

Troy was... consternated. Consternated was totally a word, right? Regardless, he totally was, and visibly so: tense around the eyes, a little distracted, a lot flushed...

Someone was ready for this week to be over.

"Okay, everyone," he said, once they'd gathered. "So we finished with act one on Sunday. What we'd like to do today is check in with everyone, get a sense where your head is, see if you have any questions about what we've done so far. And if you want to work on any specific scenes, we can do that, too."

"Because a lot of you are liable to be headed off to warmer climes come the weekend," Jono added, spray bottle firmly held in one hand all over again, his heavy jacket buckled up over his face and a look in his eye that suggested that he was itching to punch something, "we won't be having rehearsals this coming Sunday or Thursday. We can do a quick run-through of act one today, and since you're getting so much time off, I expect you all to be off-book by the time we resume rehearsals again."

Yes, Jono wanted you to read on your break. Such a cruel man he was.

"If you're having difficulty with your music, let me know, and I'll beat some pitch and rhythm into you. Probably not literally."

"But only probably," Troy reiterated. "And we'll be doing some intense choreography work when you get back, too, so make sure you're rested up for that." He grinned at the cast, even if it was a little forced around the edges. "So, any questions, or shall we get started?"

Quinn was not exactly stunned by the water, though she took a cup. She was grateful they weren't at dress rehearsal yet; having everyone in costume would have made an already-difficult rehearsal that much more difficult.

Hayley actually showed up for rehearsal today.

She honestly didn't care that she'd missed on Sunday. It'd be really hard to convince her she hadn't made the right decision. So she looked totally comfortable sitting around, waiting to rehearse.

Vincent was there. With muffins.

And somewhat relieved that this show had ended up with quite so many ladies in it. And that they weren't quite at the men-trooping-around-in-lingerie stage of rehearsals, just yet.

Hercules was there, looking a little pale and less than his normal, boisterous self.

He'd just be over drinking lots of the lemon water, nursing his almost-Succubussed-to-death self back to full strength.

The Power Suit...was still fried. While she was having a much better time finding supplies for all the kitchen appliances to fix them, it was a little harder with the alien technology.

Thankfully, Samus still had her Zero Suit, which she figured probably gave a much different view of her character than the Power Suit did. And by different views, we mean Clearly and Distinctly Female because Was That Practically Painted On? So. Yeah.

She was mostly going to kick back and watch, keeping an eye out for any suggestion of what she was even doing here in the first place.

Hanna was actually grateful there was water. Anything else, especially caffeinated, was probably not the best thing for her right now.

Between... the week, and just general stress from being completely overloaded on things to do and waiting for college acceptance letters, Annie was pretty much a tense little mess.

A tense little mess who wasn't drinking her water so much as constantly tapping the cup so hard that occasionally drops would splash out of it.

"I think I'm good with Fuschia so far," Quinn said. "I don't get the whole part at the end where it suddenly turns out she helped to kill people, but I can figure that part out when we get there."

"I... I'm good," Hercules said, obviously seeming a little weak. "I might not have the best singing or dancing tonight. I had a little... accident yesterday."

Samus, a constructed perfect warrior usually in big gold armor who barely ever talked...was playing a constructed perfect man in wee little gold shorts with barely any lines.

She was good.

"I'm good," Annie said shortly.

Still tapping her cup.

"I might have to work on being a little meeker," Cindy said, "but I think I'm fine. Any pointers for me?"

"If I ask what's my motivation, will I get hit with the spray bottle?" Trick asked.

Look, you cope with sex pollen your way, and he'll make stupid little jokes.

Quinn felt that familiar flutter of wings in her stomach for just a second before she began to sing.

Michael Rennie was ill
The Day the Earth Stood Still
But he told us where we stand.
And Flash Gordon was there
In silver underwear...

It seemed like a pretty sexy song to start with, slow and faux innocent. Today, Quinn couldn't help amping that up a little -- though not enough to need the spray bottle.

Holding a newspaper over her head, Cindy sang,

"In the velvet darkness,
Of the blackest night,
Burning bright, there's a guiding star.
No matter what or who you are....
"

See? Totally fine! Nothing sexy about being hunched over, close to someone, soaking wet...

Dammit.

Troy was sucking back lemon water like his life depended on it.

And hoping that Jono didn't end up needing to use the spray bottle on him. ... It was a worry, okay?

Billy was so, so, so glad they weren't doing clothing-free rehearsals yet. If he didn't make eye contact with anyone today, he hoped people wouldn't be offended.

Painting scenery of bedrooms! And let's face it, making them sexy.

Look, Kenzi had to deal somehow.

OKAY SO I think LJ has decided to start letting me use Chrome again, even if it still has a hate-on for Firefox -- I'm out on errands for another hour or so, but then I'll be around the rest of the day!
