Caritas- Tuesday

The school people were still here? Great. Awesome. God only knew how much bigger Tino's head could get with this fake manager title, and it'd only been two days. Plus he had a slew of tiny green alien things following around and expressing gratitude, which didn't help, so she'd banished him to the office for a while.

That said, Kitty was behind the bar, fully prepared to tell anyone who asked that she was totally twenty-one and just left her ID at home, and she was even dressed more casually than usual for work. Meaning there was minimal skin showing, and seriously, she was going to compare her tips tonight to a normal night and see what a difference that made.

HALF OFF FOR GUESTS TO THE ISLAND

That was totally not a bribe. Really.

"Are you even legal?" Deadpool, why would you even bother asking that?

"You suuuure? I mean, Jubilee is younger than that new Pixie chick now." A beat. "Also a vampire."

Another beat.

"You have noooo idea who I am."

"Damn it." Ruin all his fun with your sleuthing. He would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for that meddling kid. And her space dragon. "Something that will make me forget our benefactors who still somehow managed to hire me."

Oh, tequila. The bringer of poor decisions. "They should be leaving aaaany time now. So, consider this also a celebration. But hey, I got to break out my old holographic projector. I haven't used this since before I teamed up with Nate for his super special awesome island."

"So," Lisa said conversationally, because hi cute guy, "are the green aliens sort of average island insanity? I wasn't sure exactly how bad it would be."

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2012-04-18 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Damn right he was cute. Damn. Right.

"Yeah, but if you make them have a tea party for two hours straight, they tend to mysteriously disappear to find someone else to give their undying gratitude to."

Jan was a terrible child. Or awesome. It all depended on how you looked at it.

[identity profile] 800-math-sats.livejournal.com 2012-04-18 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't think to try that," Lisa mused, and jotted TEA PARTY in her notebook. "Maybe I'll do that if they follow me home. How'd you figure it out?"

Jan was awesome. Duh.

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2012-04-18 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
"It's the element of surprise," Deadpool insisted. "That and the kid is on this tea party kick. I'm seriously considering spiking my tea with whiskey to make it through the next one."

A beat.

"Unless I get the awesome hat to wear..."

[identity profile] 800-math-sats.livejournal.com 2012-04-18 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
"With the corners?" Lisa asked, sketching an imaginary one in the air over her head.

She shouldn't have been surprised there was apparently a kid on the island. And yet.

"I'm Lisa," she added. "here with the school board."

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2012-04-18 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
"And a feather!" It was the sassiest hat since that hat shop closed down. "Deadpool, normally the Vice Principal, but avoiding your bosses because... well... you guys hired a mercenary to help run a school. I'm not about to make you all rethink that one."

"Margarita," Lisa ordered, then glanced over Kitty again. "Wow, you look young."

It had been three very long days. She needed a drink.

[identity profile] 800-math-sats.livejournal.com 2012-04-18 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Lisa nodded, offered a hand over the bar. "Lisa Miller," she said. "I'm a radio reporter up in New York, and I wanted to try something a little youth-focused. It's been ... well, learning abotu everything has been interesting."

[identity profile] 800-math-sats.livejournal.com 2012-04-18 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"You get used to it, right?" Lisa asked, oh so hopefully. "I think we're here all week. I'm hoping to adjust before I go."

[identity profile] 800-math-sats.livejournal.com 2012-04-18 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Lisa nodded sadly. "I only packed for three days. Is there a decent place to buy cute stuff on the island?"
