The zombies were all wearing straw hats today while they played their instruments.

Every once in a while Kitty would turn to Tino and check, "Okay, are you sure you didn't do it?" even though he denied it every time.

What made it worse was that one seemed to really like his hat and god help whoever tried to take it off of him.

Bobby had been back in town for months, and ever since he'd heard on the radio that Kitty was here, had been meaning to pop in and see her.

Nearly six months later he actually got around to it. You shut up.

"Hey," he greeted, pausing a moment to see if she'd recognize him. "I'll get a Long Island Iced Tea." What? HE LIKED THEM.

Poor clueless Kitty who was used to him being, well, older. "You sure about that?" she checked, because she knew what was in them.

"Totally sure," Bobby said with a nod. He was more or less used to the different-ages-than-expected thing by now. "Promise I can handle it."

"I'm using the zombies as my witnesses that you said that," she teased, getting the drink together while reminding herself of why she stayed away from these: namely, the ingredients.

"I'm Bobby, by the way," he finally remembered he might want to actually give his name. "Good to finally meet you, Kitty."

After six months of being here, even a first name got side eye from her. "Bobby, huh?"

"Drake," he beamed at her. Innocently.

"...Ow, my head," she said. "You'd think I'd be used to this by now."

But no. No, she wasn't.

"It gets easier, I promise," Bobby assured her. "Am I older, younger, or with a different hair color where you're from?" he couldn't help but ask.

"Older. Like Warr- and that's right, Warren's little here, too," said the nineteen-year-old.

"If it helps, I'm like legally twenty-something back home," Bobby offered. Despite looking about eighteen, yes. That... probably didn't help, Bobby.

"Think older," she said. Because that was still almost her age.

...Was it morbid that part of him was always a little bit surprised he'd actually managed to make it that far?

"Huh," he said finally. "But still awesome, right?"

"Definitely," she assured him. "So if you're legally twenty-one at home, how old are you here?" And then she braced herself for brain breakage.

"I think I might be twenty-two actually," Bobby mused. "But I'm also eighteen." Because that made total sense.

"And you're saying hearing this sort of stuff gets easier?" Kitty had all the doubts, Bobby. All of them. Every single one, even that one over there.

"Have you met Cable, where you're from?" he asked pointedly, assuming she'd at least heard of him, but... she could've been from some weird-ass reality like Tony or Warren. Who knew.

"You mean the mayor who showed up at the bar slumber party with a toddler?" she said. ...That sentence in itself was probably a little odd, actually.

"Yeah huh," Bobby nodded. "So... you just know him from here, then? Not before?" he checked.
