Caritas- Friday

With everything going down tomorrow, Kitty wasn't spending much time at all up front today. She was much more concerned with anything that might be going on in the back, and really, after hearing radio she felt better being around them than keeping up a front for any minions that showed up tonight. She wasn't sure she could play nice today.

So the place was open, and there was at least one person here crossing her fingers that tomorrow went smoothly.

[Fairly easy day at work, pinging should be pretty consistent from me.]

Sia didn't often come down here, but she wanted to see if there was new information or anything to be done for tomorrow before finding shelter for the night (http://sia-later.livejournal.com/548.html).

She wasn't very openly friendly, but she was here.

Rory wasn't feeling great, having heard radio herself, but she tucked herself onto a barstool and went back to making (heavily coded, naturally) notes for the next day.

She still wasn't entirely sure what help she could be, but damn it, lists had never failed her yet.

"I'm making a list for stuff we'll need for after the stuff with tomorrow works," Rory said, holding it out. The list, for what it's worth, was made up of total nonsense words. "It's a pretty simple code," she added, "but it's also not especially privileged information. If they catch me, I mean, the jig is already kind of up. But this is what I've always kinda...done, you know? Make lists, keep stuff organized. Someone should."

"Rory," Bruce asked, moving over by her. "Getting ready for tomorrow?"

Rory had never really believed the rumors that Bruce had been put under the curse. He just didn't seem like the type to let that happen and let it stick -- but, you really couldn't be too careful.

"Bruce," she said, a little stiffly. She hadn't seen him in a good long while, either way. She casually folded the list in half, tucking it into her pocket. "Is something happening tomorrow?"

As tense as she was, Isabel still managed a small smile as she watched Rory work. "It's nice to know some things don't change."

"Play to your strengths," Rory said, glancing over with a tiny smile. "Someone's got to keep track of stuff."

Piper quietly wandered into the back room, taking a seat on a stool. She was here for many reasons. Maybe there'd be some last minute information about tomorrow.

She also just needed a drink. She usually did before battle.

"Beer," Piper replied without hesitation. "Whatever's on tap."

If you knew Bruce, it probably wouldn't be a surprise that he somehow kept up on all of the current passwords for any business he needed to get into. He wouldn't normally use them thanks to his cover, but he still had people to recruit. He was confident he'd find one of them here.

But being who he was, he would have to deal with the fact that people might stare and wonder what he was doing here. It came with the job.

"Do you serve coffee back here?" Bruce asked. "I have a long night of planning ahead of me."

Isabel slipped into the back room and took a seat at the bar.

Knowing what was coming on Saturday, she wanted some company tonight.

Billy had everything ready back at the shop. All that remained now was the waiting. That was the worst part, every time.

"At least we're not singing today." he muttered. He had a song stuck in his head anyway.

One day more, another day another destiny...

Surreal may have looked like she came out the wrong way of a spat with some Madri, but they looked worse. Trust her.

"Ale!" she decided, swinging up on to a bar stool and trying to wipe some blood off her leathers with her sleeve. "I can pay in gold or fresh meat."

Beat. "Rabbit meat."

Look, she didn't want the squirrels thinking she was eating their brethren. Those things were creepy.

Richie was feeling restless. Tomorrow was awfully soon and he was finding it hard to sit still. He still wasn't entirely sure what he ought to be doing tomorrow, but he'd be there.

Somehow coming in here where there were trustworthy people seemed like a much better plan than wandering the streets at night where, as keyed-up as he was, he was likely to get into trouble and then he wouldn't be any use at all tomorrow.
