Homecoming Carnival Post II [The Park, Saturday, October 20, 2012]

Sure, with the advent of wee tinies, some of the booths in this section of the park had changed, but the spirit was still the same. Edible glitter and pictures of the huggable werewolf decorated the new and exciting hugging booths (cootie shots optional), dunk tanks (swimmies not optional), and pie tossing books. There were plenty of games and activities to be distracted by in the main carnival, and hopefully little attention spans would remember to head this way before their favorite targets left.

Karla knew she didn't have cooties, but she was giving rather dubious looks to the people who were passing her booth. She was cootie free, but who knew if they were.

Hugging booths, Stacey decided, were the best things ever. She was a little impatient, too, smiling happily at people in case that made them want to come over more.

There was also the yelling of "FREE HUGS! OVER HERE!" which might be harder to ignore.

Hanna was so excited to be at the carnival. There was so much to do! So many rides and all the junk food and...hugs! She loved hugs.

No cooties here either!

Dunk Tanks

Safety first! Which was why everyone was going to have to wear swimmies in the tanks. Yes, everyone. What? Didn't the adults want to set a good example?

Korra's swimmies had mysteriously vanished. She not only could she already swim, she was a water bender and the Avatar, both of which would be more help than those things.

It was probably a good thing that Zoe had left Grace home this weekend with Mal while she visited Fandom. It was also probably very good that they were giving out swimmies, because Zoe? Not a huge fan of water.

For the record, as an adult Jaye shouldn't be allowed around a pie toss, because the odds were good that it would end in some kind of slapsticky fight with bystanders slipping on whipped cream and people getting hit in the face with a pie intended for someone else.

And you were letting a four-year-old Jaye do it.

Though she was almost SIX and could read some things... she mostly could only read Japanese. She did, of course, know the English word 'pie', though. It wasn't 'cake', but pie was close! So of COURSE Momoko had eagerly agreed to sit in the booth!

Max wasn't really a carnival guy per se, but he did enjoy pie. And it appeared that the pies featured in this activity were really good pies, so there was no way he was going to pass that up. The booth definitely hadn't been reserved for him, so either an extra had been prepared or he was stealing someone else's seat, but whatever.

Maybe protecting his clothes by going shirtless was a bit too far, but on the other hand, it did mean that people got to see his badass Hebrew letter tattoo on his chest. Just in case they were scoping out hot dates from among the pie toss participants. That was normal, right?
