The Docks- Saturday evening

Katherine Pryde, who'd come here on the run as an Aztec princess, had come a long way since then. She'd successfully completed another day of modeling and resisting the lure of proffered heroin. They kept telling her she'd be more famous if she used drugs, but she knew it was a lie. She was a good girl, one of the only ones this town had left. If she gave that up, she would be nothing.

For some reason, today's shoot meant that she was walking home through the docks, where she knew unsavory things happened all the time. But she was sure everything would be fine and no more people would try to make her shoot up.


[And that's your cue to ping in and what have you.]

"No one who hides in the shadows can be that good," Katherine retorted. "Whatever you want, I'm not interested."

[suitably_heroic]

"I was just going to offer you some gum," Atton said.

OR WAS HE.

[throughaphase]

OR WAS GUM A METAPHOR? Or something.

"I don't need any gum," Katherine told him.

[suitably_heroic]

IT WAS A METAPHOR! ... for heroin. Studio execs were a little confused on what was even acceptable these days.

"You sure?" Atton asked, offering her his leather-bound container of gum.

[throughaphase]

"I'm sure. You can keep your gum to yourself."

Leather-bound gum container? Really?

[suitably_heroic]

Just wait until you check out his leather underwear.

"Fine, fine, your loss," Atton said, slipping a piece of gum into his mouth. "See you around."

Dramatic music.

[throughaphase]

Almost as if she heard the music (she hadn't), Katherine's eye widened, and she walked just a little faster to get away from him.

And his gum.

And leather underwear, which could not be comfortable.

Atton's actor was going to have a real conversation with the costume department later.

But Atton stayed put right where he was, all... shadowy, his hands in his leather-lined leather pockets. "Goodbye, Katherine..."
