Caritas- Friday

Kitty didn't know what she was doing in here today. She'd gotten lost walking around town and came in to ask directions, and this strange, large dining room just looked so dirty to her that she'd just had to clean it, all while Tino complained about the dodo that had tried to attack him earlier. She'd replied by telling him to sit down in the lounge and brought him a nice cold beer, since this strange house seemed to have so many available.

Cleaning was made slightly more difficult by the shiny blue ball currently tied to her wrist like a bracelet, which kept getting in the way as she tried to wash glasses.... which meant she was also doing a lot of saying "Oopsie," and then having to get out the broom again.

Where your bartender had no idea she's a bartender but she'd be happy to get you a nice cold glass of wholesome milk!

Max was a very professional doctor, you see, and that naturally entitled him to a drink at a bar before he went home at the end of the day. That was just the way the world worked.

So he came into the bar, set his completely empty briefcase on the stool beside him, and flashed Kitty a smile. "Scotch, doll, and make it neat," he requested.

"Everything's neat! I just cleaned the glasses," Kitty said proudly.

She'd broken more than she'd successfully cleaned.

"And I bet you did a marvelous job with that," Max praised her. Because cleaning glasses was super hard and only the smartest women could tackle it. Even Max and his awesome doctor powers weren't up to the task. "Good for you!"

Max gave her a moment before deciding her tiny female brain was probably shorting out. It happened. "So how's about that scotch, doll?" he reminded Kitty. "It's that big bottle way up there. Careful now."

He figured she might appreciate the help.

"Of course," Kitty smiled, and turned to get the bottle.

It took her a minute to read the labels on all of them. And then she went to grab the right bottle, sending another one tumbling to the floor with a crash and an, "Oops."

"Careful, doll, don't try sweeping up too fast, you could get cut by broken glass," Max said, coming around the bar to help out by being a doctor. "Does anything hurt?"

She seemed like she might need the medical process broken down for he... oooh, shiny blue bracelet. Pretty.

After spending last week doing nothing of importance for SHIELD, Clint had way more paperwork to deal with than usual, so he'd been a bit holed up at home for the last few days. He'd been listening to the radio though, so he'd finally realized that a) something weird was going on, and b) for once, he wasn't affected. Needing a break, and a bit of celebration, Clint headed for Caritas... and stopped short once he got inside. "Okay, this looks bad."

"What looks bad?" Kitty asked, looking around and frowning. "Did I miss a spot?"

"Uh, no," Clint said quickly, trying not to stare at Kitty. "No, everything looks great, really. Have you been cleaning up?"

"Quite a bit! Things keep falling over," Kitty said with a smile, reaching to put a glass away, and knocking another one down with her bracelet. "See, there goes another one."

Clint winced a little at the shatter. "Do you want me to clean that up?" he asked. He eyed the bracelet, trying to remember if he'd seen it on her before.

"Oh, no, I'm an expert at cleaning. My place is in the home," Kitty said, already getting the broom from... somewhere. "You sit right there and I'll be happy to get you something!"

Clint was back to staring for a moment before he sat down. "Uh, thanks?" he said uncertainly. "What do you have?" Sure, he knew, but he was curious what else might come out of Kitty's mouth right now.

Which would have been more convincing if Kenzi hadn't dived behind the bar and grabbed a bottle of rum to console herself.

"Then don't look!" Glug. Glug glug glug. BREEEEATHE. "Now. Look. Over there. For the fuzz. They'll never look for me here!"

She gasped, looking alarmed. "There's fuzz? I thought I cleaned so well!"

"They get into everywhere," Kenzi said in dire tones. The Russian accent was making a random reappearance. "Lousy fascist fuzz. Pigs!" GLUG. Then Kenzi started rummaging, looking for where she'd hidden part of her ganja stash.
