Drama! Thursday, Period Four [The Boards]

It being Finals week, it was, naturally, time for the Drama final. Of course, this being Fandom, pen-and-paper finals were hardly required, and so Thor had decided that the best thing to do was give a very practical final. In the form of a Christmas/Midgardian/Other-worldlyian holiday recital, naturally. He’d even managed to book time at the Boards for the occasion. And being a public space, it was of course open for anyone to come and watch.

And speaking of watching, yes, that'd be mistletoe hanging on the ceiling... just about any time anyone looked up. Have fun with that!

Karolina barely had to do anything in the show, and she was still nervous.

It didn't help that a bunch of mistletoe seemed to be intent on popping up right above her head all the time, either. Sigh.

It was the first time Rilla had been backstage for a concert since the one back in Glen St. Mary, and though she knew it was impossible, she kept half-expecting Irene to come in, give her an insincere hug, and absolutely destroy her world again.

There would be a long letter heading to Walter in France after this play tonight: he was weighing heavily on her mind right now.

Juliet was calm. Perfectly calm.

Perfectly calm people always paced and wiped their palms on their 60s-style dresses and muttered their lines under their breath, right? So by those standards, she was completely and utterly serene.

Hanna was kind of calm, with a little bit of nervous excitement. Since her role wasn't as involved as some others, she was feeling more relaxed.

Though maybe that would change when she actually had to be on stage.

Billy was a little nervous, but he'd sort of reached a Zen state where he'd realized that there was nothing to do but go ahead and get this over with.

As owner of the building and all, Jono had claimed for himself the best seat in the house. Up at the very back, by the sound booth, where he could keep a watchful eye on the stage to be absolutely bloody certain nobody was lighting any actual fires on his stage or something.

... Not that he didn't trust Thor to keep his class in some semblance of order or anything. But the Asgardian could get... enthusiastic about things, and...

Okay, the seat to Jono's right had been reserved for a fire extinguisher. Just in case.

Anakin had a bit of a soft spot for holiday pageants after all of these years, so he was in the back row watching the proceedings.

He'd pay cash money to see Minerva show up dressed as Santa and throw out detention slips and pencils...

As the house lights dimmed, Thor came out on stage and grinned at the assembled audience. "Denizens of Fandom, I have had the distinct pleasure these past few months of instructing an excellent group of young people. They have come here today to present what they have been working very hard on, and I do hope you find the experience and celebration of your Midgardian holiday enjoyable!"

Sparkle had not actually been crying, you shut the hell up. That his make-up was still smudged down his cheeks a little when he came out to greet the audience after the show? That was just... stage... make-up... effects.

Yes. It was an effect.

Maybe he just got really in character, okay!?

Anyhow, he was kind of hoping that the fact that he was wearing his fishnets and skirt again would distract people from that. Because why the hell not make sure they felt good and scandalized after the show? It was way more fun his way.
