Caritas- Tuesday

After the first two times she'd tried duct taping the drummer's arm back on, Kitty gave up. And scrubbed up to her elbows in the bathroom afterwards, because ew.

Do you know what the sound of one hand drumming was? It was really annoying, that was what it was.

FREE DRINK TO ANYONE WHO GETS HIS ARM TO STAY ON

"I'll get a shot of whatever you have strong enough to make me go up there and try."

She was going to pay for that drink, of course.

"I wouldn't accept anything else," Emily said as she smiled at her. She then turned to see the zombies and...

"You know what, make it two shots of tequila. Maybe a plastic cup of the stuff."

"I want to brag about my drinking skills, but you're right about this still being week one." It wasn't like Emily wanted to get wasted anyway. Not in the island at least.

"Two shots then. I'll pay for them and include the zombie experience in the cost, I guess."

"I'll do it in exchange for a raise," April suggested as she walked into the bar.

She obviously wasn't actually expecting that to work, no.

This was true enough. "I'll do it in exchange for... the experience of manhandling zombie flesh," she corrected herself. "And also a beer."

That was the advertised offer, April, yes.

She rolled up her sleeves and surveyed the drummer. "I'm probably not gonna catch anything, right?" she asked Kitty. In the past she'd always let the zombies sort out their limb problems themselves.

"It's one of those things you really shouldn't be proud about, but oh well." Only that she was. "And trust me, I am pretty terrified. That's why I'm asking for the shots."

That said, Emily drank one, inspiring deeply right before, drinking it in one go and then exhaling from her mouth. "Good stuff." She then drank the other one the same way. "Alright then, I wish I was even dizzy but what can you do? Wish me luck. And by the by, I'm Emily. In case I did from the gross or something."

"I guess it's not like you can catch 'dead,'" April concluded. "Okay."

She grabbed the duct tape and a handful of napkins from the bar and made her way over to the zombie to tape on his arm. A minute or two later, she was back, looking mildly traumatized and bearing the important news that-- "The smell is so much worse up close."

But the arm was sticking, at least! For now.

"Give my drink to the next person who comes in!" Spider-Woman shouted as she leaped from the door onto the stage, webbed the arm on, gave the drummer a pat on the back, fired a web back toward the door, and pulled herself back across the room to make a backflipping exit.

The whole thing took about five seconds.

Apparently she heard about the sign?

Allie shuddered after reading the sign and then glancing over at the zombie. "I'm so glad that's not in my job description."

"Like hangover cures," April said, sounding a little bit nauseated still as she uncapped the beer and took a long swig. Then, now that she was feeling a little better-- "I gotta ask, why don't you hire a normal band?"

Not that she minded the zombies when she didn't have to go deal with them. She was just curious.
