The Perk, Monday Evening
Strange as it may seem, Jake was in fact perfectly aware that there were places in town that were not bars, the Trooper station, or the Arms.
In fact, he was at one such place now, since he felt the need for something to stave off the chill and ahahaha like he owned a coffeemaker. So raspberry mocha from the Perk it was, with a generous splash of rum because Jake that's why. And a red velvet muffin because it was really just a step away from being a cupcake.
And yes, he'd rolled the rim of his paper coffee cup up, purely out of habit, before remembering this was the Perk, not a Tim's.
[ooc: omg open!]

She'd been planning on reading for an hour while she enjoyed the scent of her coffee, but her plans changed when she spotted a newly familiar face.
"Sheriff, this is a surprise."

"I'm not sure I've seen you out in the wild before," she greeted Jake as she waited for her drink.

So five-shot mocha with cinnamon and whipped cream it was, and she was on her way out when she noticed Jake. Admittedly it was the red velvet muffin that caught her attention first, and then --
"Oh my god, I think your cup is blooming."
. . . that hadn't been her head voice. Again. Oops.

Stephanie gestured vaguely with her finger, sort of an upward spiraling motion. "The rim?"

He shrugged. "Huh. Habit, I guess. It's that time of year."

Excellent deductive reasoning there, junior detective Brown. Excellent work.
